    - Issue with anisotropy filter and FX file. Thanks for the solutions. I go for the third option. It is flexible enough and just requires to be set once at startup. And to be correct enough, the MinFilter also needs a parameter because some card don't support anisotropy. If I want to see something behind something else, I have to make sure I draw it first (even if it is farther back in the Z dimension). I wonder if this has to do with a setting that can be changed.     - Import from Flash(*.swf) to 3D scene Hello, as far as I know, SWF file format is not directly supported by DirectX or XNA technologies. You will need to write a custom importer. And i don't know if this is legally possible, since if you read the SWF file format specification, the license terms grants you to create SWF files, but do not grant you to read SWF files. Of course, don't take my words as facts, you can read the file format specification and respond yourself. Search it at adobe web site. I could have mispelled the license terms (english is not my 'mother language', as it is notable). Of course, searching the web for importers or convertors MAY have some results. Regards, Himar. Well if you are trying to build a sort of more "generic" GUI module (something that has a number of supported widgets and some way to load texture information on them depending on the game you are building) then the simple 1 rectangle check is a bit too little. You would need some sort of algorithm (like some sweeping algorithm sweeping with z ordering for example) which tells you which widget got the mouseClick. For the text box idea you would need a string buffer that would keep your message in it. This buffer should be updated every time a key is pressed on the keyboard and the text box widget is denoted as active. A problem that came into mind while thinking about this is the fact that with xna you are basically querying the state of your keyboard on every update instead of getting notifyed every time the keyboard has been pressed, so in principle this might result in loss of data. So while I tryed to answer your question I am actually asking one of my own.     - Express edition in a machine that already has vs 2005 as the poster aboe said, it works jsut fine side-by-side, but afaik you cannot get the express edition to work with VS (though, why would you ). Particularly if you are looking to get XNA to work within VS2005, I would say no, because XNA has specific objects that will only work using the Express Edition (the game related methods and such). What resolution is your game running at What resolution is your Xbox display output set to What is the native resolution of your TV Depending on the above answers, there could be all kinds of different video scaling going on, perhaps inside the Xbox or maybe also inside the TV. Depending on the details, this could easily cause the results you are seeing. The Xbox video scaler is very high quality, but I doubt it can be relied on to exactly preserve the brightness of a single-pixel thick line (that's not really a common case for video signals, so probably not what they tweaked it for) and if the TV is doing any scaling internally, things are all over the shop in terms of how good different TVs are at that. Since its a DirectX 8 file its not something that DirectX 9.0 will install and it seems unlikely that it would come with the OS since DirectX 8 totally predates windows XP .     - Build for Xbox 360 and Windows in one project Too funny, I built the same thing last night but with a game library project as well. The only other differences are I didn't put in my own icon, and mine are called UniversalXnaGame and UniversalXnaLibrary". I didn't know about the __TemplateIcon.ico trick...most slick. Hope you don't mind if I "borrow" that trick. ;-) I am in the middle of building a Package plugin for mine as as well as a simple installer. This way the template will show up in the top part of the list, and is available for all users. Granted building a VS Package is overkill for such a minor thing, but this will also serve as platform for some other ideas I have. Incidentally, maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see why it is necessary to turn on advanced build configurations to use this I can use my template just fine without it. When I change the Solution Configurations or Solution Platforms it builds the correct thing automatically the next time I build. But I thought I read someware that it's most efficent to overwrite from your starting offset all the way to the end of the buffer, insted of starting and stopping.     - XBox 360 hard drive question for MS staff - semi off topic What I would most like to see in terms of additional storage is the ability to use a standard USB external hard drive. Similiar to DVR's. For instance, my Explorer 8300 DVR, made by Scientific Atlanta, does this very nicely. And it formats the drive in a way my PC does not understand, which reduces the risk of ripping content from it. I connected a 250GB unit for around $100. It would be a shame for Microsoft to only offer the use of a limited capacity drive, made or re-branded by them, at a price well above that of the external storage marketplace.
