Hello. What is a valid and fastest way to upgrade the content of the MSDN help files that will be supported by VS2005 Professional

I also failed to install April 2007 update of the MSDN including documentation's updates and VS2005 SP1. I have DVD with multi language installation and when i run the setup and tell it to update MSDN it says invalid disk...

HI there, could you please elaborate on your failure steps and your machine environment

MSDN Libraries supporting VS 2005 SKUs will uninstall previous VS 2005 era MSDN library on the machine and will perform installation of the Library.

April 2007 MSDN library release was was the latest VS 2005 era library and would recommend isntallation of this library if you are looking for the latest VS 2005 documentation.

Please explain your environment and detailed steps.

I have XP.SP2 and VS2005.SP1 (both Proffesional). I have all latest updates installed. I have Frameworks 2.0 and 3.0 installed. I am trying to update MSDN that was installed from the original installation DVD of the VS2005 by using MSDN for VS2005, VS2005 Proffesional edition and VSS 2005 DVD from April 2007 (Disc 3070.1) of the Msdn subscription.
After running a Setup for VS2005 English Proffesional I select update MSDN documentation and get prompted to insert a disk 1. I give a path to the DISK1 of the installation which has two subfolders: DISK1 and DISK2. Then i get an error that it is invalid disk. From here i have nowehere to move.

Have you also tried the MSDN Docuemntation disk on a different machine Without running VS 2005 setup

Do you have the June shipment of MSDN Subscription

There should be an MSDN Library -April 2007 edition in the June shipment. Have you tried runing this edition as a stand alone installation

The April 2007 edition of MSDN Library (not in the April subscriptions but in the June shipment) has the latest VS documentation including VS SP1 documentation updates.

No, i did not tried to install it on the standalone machine since my target is upgrading machines with VS2005 and MSDN to newer documentation's version. I will check the June's package if our IT team separates them somehow. :-) I will also check the link.

It looks like images i have downloading from the link you'd provided contain the update for MSDN. It means that the label on the DVD that i tried to use is incorrect. Thank you.

In the case something go wrong i will inform you.
