Hello all,

We are in the process of implementing TeamServer as our Source Control provider, replacing Source Safe. We converted a couple projects to learn and test the process, say Project1 and Project2.

Initially, the decision has been made to have a fairly flat hierarchy to make it easy to see what has been converted. It was requested that we include a suffix of Dll or Exe to the TeamServer Project name so that someone unfamiliar with a given project could at least get an idea of how it might be used by checking the suffix.

But we can't find any way to rename Project1 to Project1Dll or Project2 to Project2Exe. Nor can we delete them and start over. Are we missing something really obvious here or is that information immutable once the create Project wizard finishes.

Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or suggestions!

Renaming of TFS projects is not supported at this time - see this post for more information.

To delete an existing TFS project so you can start over, check out the TFSDeleteProject command.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jeff! So it sounds like there is no way to permanently remove a project one it has been entered. Is that correct

That's true - I'm not aware of any "feature" that will permanently remove a project. The TFSDeleteProject command will flag a project as deleted (and hide it from view) but most of the data still remains in the database(s).
