I use an IBM thinkpad. I have just started using my external monitor as my primary, with the laptops LCD monitor as the secondary. Ever since I've started doing this all the modal dialogs that Team System Client throws up are not visible anywhere on either screen, so Visual Studio effectively is hung waiting for me to respond to an invisible dialog.

This is a major drag, I have to kill VS, and then switch to only my primary monitor, or at least switch the primary over to LCD then reopen VS to complete a CheckIn or anything. Then switch display settings again to carry on where I was.

Is there any setting I could modify to force these dialogs to be non-modal, or at least appear in the taskbar

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Grant:

Unfortunately it seems there is no way to force these dialog to be non - modal. It is by design I think.

Another customer has reported a similar problem. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have UltraMon or similar utility installed, you can use a hotkey / mouse button to move the modal dialog to the correct monitor.

If not, you should probably memorize the keystrokes to move a dialog. Alt + space, M, arrow keys, Enter.
