I want to get all the Latest Version files (Visual Basic 2005 application) from a project in Visual Studio 6 SP5. Then edit/save those files in VS2005 but don't checkout files from the sourcesafe since I don't want any changes I did go into the sourcesafe. Basically I want those files that I got to become no source control at all.

Re: Visual Studio Source Control and SourceSafe How to disable source control in Visual Studio 2005?

Alin Constantin - MSFT

In VS2005, open the VB6 project from source control (File/Open/Project.... SourceSafe icon in bottom left of dialog, open the vbp file).

The project will require migration and some files will be checked out in this step.

In VS2005, use File/SourceControl/ChangeSourceControl dialog and Unbind all the projects from source control.

Finally, use VSS Explorer to UndoCheckout the files checked out during migration. Make sure to select Leave the local files, so they will remain in the VS2005 format.

Hi Alin,

The project in VS6 sourcesafe is a VS2005 project. But it works by using the ChangeSourceControl.

Thanks,
