Hi,

This is a first for me and I would love to get this right. I am trying to create a simple setup.exe program to install my Crystal report that I created. It was created in Visual Studio 2005. It has one form, Crystal Report Viewer with one Crystal report. I tried the merge module install walkthrough on Microsoft http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aw2dz878(VS.80).aspx as you can see this is not Crystal specific and the steps do not Match... Can someone please help me with this installation It does not have to be a merge module one if there is a better and easier way.

Thank you very much!

Lawrence

Here is a link to the merge module needed for Crystal Reports that comes with Visual Studio 2005. You will need to create a setup project, and add the merge module as a merge module, not a file, to the project.

Lawrence,

Look at this link:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms225299(VS.80).aspx

It outlines different deployment scenarios for Crystal Reports for VS 2005. I personally use the one with the merge modules and I didn't think it was that hard. If you want to go that route and have difficulties, ask here. I will try to answer as best as I can.

Hello,

If you're having trouble with the merge modules, you could try deploying via Windows Installer. The deployment method is very similar but slightly easier. See http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/en/CrystalReports_dotNET_SDK/crsdk_net_doc/doc/crsdk_net_doc/html/crtskdeploymenttutorialsvs2005windowsinstallerxir2.htm

This method worked for me when I tried to deploy both Windows/Web projects. Hope this helps!
