Hello..

I've run out of disk space.. in my C drive.

Does it have any link with frequent check in/get/delete of code on the TFS

How to reduce the size of the file "TfsVersionControl.mdf"

Thanks

The TfsVersionControl.mdf file has part of the database contents for TFS Version Control. There's no safe way to reduce its size with Tfs 2005. Starting with Orcas, you can permanently destroy file contents you are sure you no longer need to keep, but even this should only be used with care.

I'd suggest moving to a larger partition or hard disk if your database is filling up your hard drive. Also see if there are other files (perhaps unrelated to TFS) that are consuming a lot of space.

To move the MDF file to another location, see this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/224071

Hi .. Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sorry i got busy elsewhere.

My source code size is about 1.5 GB, and the TfsVersionControl.mdf size is 5.8 GB. Now I don't know if it has grown over the checkins, but I was not having a checkin/ get/ delete problem until suddenly, it refused to add/check in files. Said out of disk space. Is the size 5.8 GB okay for 1.5 GB..

Thanks..
