But when I register the addin under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE(For all users) that is HKLM->SOFTWARE'->'Microsoft'->'VisualStudio'->'8.0'->'AddIns' бн.i encounter the issue. Steps followed: Register the addin Open devenv ,Addin is observed under Tools menubar. Unregister the addin Addin is removed from devenv But when I register the addin again,it does appear in Addin Manager under Tools option but it is not visible in Tools option.     - Cherry Pick Merge causes conflict Thanks for the reply Richard. I'm not sure I see why the wrong changes would be written to the target (if this was NOT considered a conflict). The goal here is to merge the DIFF between changeset 30 and 31 in the DEV line (the couple lines of code that make up the "bug fix") into the QA branch. Why is the base version (30) in play if I'm doing a cherry-pick merge I would think it is only in play to compute the DIFF, then merge that diff contents to the branch version. However it sounds like it's using 30 to compare to the branched version 29 and seeing a difference. Based on most of the demos / webcasts / articles I've seen from the MS camp, the claim is that Cherry-Pick merging is supported, and that this type of promotion modeling from DEV -> QA -> PROD is the best practice for TFS. If cherry-pick merges will almost always result in version conflicts, then I must be missing something - why they are discussed in all the examples of being supported. When I saw this TFS promotion modeling pattern, along with Cherry-Pick merging support, I thought we would no longer have to manually update N branches of code when making a bug fix in the midst of continuing feature development. By default, you get the average "Total transaction time" for all transanactions that completed in the sampling interval (e.g. if you have 5 instances of Trans1 and 5 instaces of Tras2 finish in a sampling interval, you would get ave response time counters for the 5-instances of Trans1 and 5-instances of Trans2. It is possible to have the full response times recorded for each individual transaction, but there is no way to view this data graphically in the load test analyzer. The Load Test's Run Settings property "Timing Details Storage" controls this. A value of None is the default. The value "Statistics Only" will keep the data until the end of the run, use it to generate min/max/percentile data (which is viewable in the tables of the load test analyzer), and then deletes this data from the database. The value "All Individual Results" records all the data, computes min/max/percentile, and keeps the data in the database. Later I set 'application' to a working folder, and now I want to remove the working folder connected to 'client'. But I can't. The report designer works and I can print from it, but the process would be too slow for the final application. I have tried the walkthough provided by Microsoft for printing a report without preview and keep getting an inner exception (the program seems to read the dataset, first query (view), but can't find data for the second query(view) and throws the exception. This feature is important for deploy/schema compare scripts because: My shop (and I'm sure *many* others) has several production environments. Some of which are actually clients that self-host our software and my access to their database servers can be limited to the extent that I can't necessary compare schemas against them. Due to the nature of our business (and I'm sure *many* others), our servers get hotfixed or interim deployments a lot. But often NOT all production servers; we simply don't have time. So I'm generally dealing with one or two slightly different procs or a handful of new procs/functions and table/columns in one of my many production databases. These databases are just getting changed early. Without this option, for each deployment I would be forced to script out all of my production databases so I can rebuild them and then create a deployment script for each database. Again, time is constraint here and it certainly doesn't lend to growing the business. With this option, my staging database is still valid and represents my production databases without hotfixes. Check on the name of the Upload Virtual Directory in your database's srcsafe.ini file. It should look something like: UploadVDir = VssUpload_dbN 2. Now go into IIS and look under Internet Information Services->Web Sites->Default Web Site->SourceSafe and you will see two virtual directories created for the database, with names like: VssUpload_dbN & VssDownload_dbN. If the Upload Virtual Directory name that is indicated in your srcsafe.ini file does not exist then you would have to create the Upload Virtual Directory and grant it permission to the user and write access. 3. If the Upload Virtual Directory exist then bring up the properties for the Upload Virtual Directory and verify the following: a. VssUpload allows read and writes and also permission is set for the user b. VssUpload correctly points to your database location (e.g. \\server\vss\VssWebUpload ) and that users of the database have r/w permissions to share, and r/w permission to the folder on disk. 4.     - Splashscreen difficulties I wanted to share my solution for this issue: First I created a new Form called SplashScreen. I set the FormBorderStyle to None and I turned off the title bar by turning off the icon and the control box. I don't show the form in the Taskbar and I put it up in the center of the screen. I did turn on double buffering which creates some weird effects, so make the form with the exact dimensions of your picture. Also, set the Transparency Key for the form to be the same as the background color (see my NOTE below). Next, create a Panel with the exact same dimensions as your picture, so that it fills the entire form. Make the background color of the Panel "transperent" (from the Web color tab). Set your image to be the background image of the Panel. NOTE: Apparently when the form is rendered, it cannot display anything that is semi-transparent. Maybe you can do this with directX, but I did not find any easy way to implement this. Anyway, you'll want to limit the amount of semi-transparency in your image. You can do this by using a format like GIF that has only 1-bit alpha. If you're using a real image format like PNG, you'll want to take another step. When setting the background color on the SplashScreen Form, choose a color that will blend well with your image. Then set the transparency key of the form to match the color you chose. By doing this, semi-transparent areas will appear as your special color. It still doesn't look as good as genuine blended alpha, but it's workable. If you keep your background form color and transparency key as gray, things can look pretty bad. Below I have all the code which I've described above. The actual fade in and fade out is implemented in the load event. It's fairly straight forward. This is written in J#, but the sleeping has an analog in the other languages as well... I will build the solution and discover code analysis warnings in both projects. I may randomly choose a violation, it may be in project B, and begin correcting the code, possibly refactoring other things as I go. In C# especially, I will press Ctrl+Shift+B to Build Solution and get my changes verified by the compiler. Project B has changed so Code Analysis runs again and shows me the remaining warnings in B that I still need to fix. However, because A wasn't touched, it doesn't need recompiling and it doesn't run Code Analysis and the outstanding violations are effectively hidden. With much larger solutions with two or more levels of dependency between the projects the effect is more profound. I have a been running the 180 day trial version of Visual Studio. I now have a licenced copy with product key.

How to I enter the new key into the current version of Visual Studio

I hope I do not have to un install/re install the product.
