Is it possible to use VS 2005 to build a VS 2003 solution without converting it That is, I would like to use the command line build from within VS 2005 to build a 2003 solution, but I do not want the 2003 solution to be converted into a 2005 solution.

Thank you.

Hi,

They have different file formats since VS 2005 uses MSBuild, while earlier versions of VS.NET did not, so I believe the answer is no.

Is there any particular reason why you don't want to convert the project Visual Studio will do all of the work for you, unless of course you have to migrate code into .NET 2.0 also, in which case converting the solution may be the least of your concerns.

I didn't think there would be a way, but I wanted to check. Thanks for your help!
