Hi,

I tried using tfsdeleteproject command to delete a project. While deleting sharepoint site i got the following message:
Couldnot connect to "http://<server_name>:17012/_vti_adm/admin.asmx"

I ran the command again, but it says
The project 'project_name' was not found on TFs Server.

I tried creating a folder at http://<server_name>/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx with same name as that of the project i was trying to delete and reran the command but its still says that the project doesnt exist.

Any solution

Manasi

Further to add to above problem I filred following query on tfsintegration database

use tfsintegration
select * from tbl_projects where project_name = <project_name>

It returned a row with state as "deleting".

What error message/page do you get when you try to access "http://<server_name>:17012/_vti_adm/admin.asmx" directly (e.g. using a web browser)

It sounds like either something's wrong with the SharePoint site, or you don't have the required SharePoint permissions...

Try using the "/force" option on the tfsdeleteproject commandline

Hi Luis,

Even if i use /force option, I get the same message.

I dont get any error message when I access "http://<server_name>:17012/_vti_adm/admin.asmx" through web browser. I get a page that has names of 4 methods CreateSite, DeleteSite, GetLanguages, RefreshConfigCache.

I am added into [SERVER]/Team Foundation Administrators group.

Hi Manasi,

The error you received is because of the sharepoint site, not the reporting site. You should manually delete both the reporting site you created, and delete the sharepoint site using SharePoint Central admin at http://<server>:17012, click on 'Delete Site Collection' and enter the url for the site you are trying to delete, probably something like http://<server>/sites/<projectname>.

The reason that the TfsProjectDelete doesn't work the second time it is called is that it wiped out all of TFS's knowledge about the project even though it failed to delete the sharepoint web site.
