Hi,

I'm new to the VS Extensibility and hope you cold help me.
What I'm trying to do is control the item that is selected in the IntelliSense via the text that is typed.
Just like the shorthand that is present in Visual Assist X.

I read in the forums and it seems that IVsCompletionSet is what I need, and I also saw the Automation Samples using EditPoint to get the typed text. But I don't know how to grab the actual items in the IntelliSense when it's opened, and change the selected item.

Thank you,
Guy.

Hi Guy,

What is the project type you want to control the IntelliSense for Your custom project type or some of the standard ones

I'm not sure what you mean by project type

I want to make an extension to VS 2005, which lets me control the IntelliSense.

Sorry - will try to clarify...

I mean - C# project, VB.NET project, etc... or IronPytion project or other custom project.

That will be A.
C# project.

AFAIK, you have no possibility to extend the standard IntelliSense set for C# project. But it seems you can replace it with your own like ReSharper plug-in does it.

Hope I answered to your question.

Can't I even control it
Note that I don't want to change the set of suggestions, but only select the proper one.

Afraid, the answer is no.
