I would love to have the possibility to drag and drop files/folders on the right-pane of the Source Control Explorer and have them added to the Source Control.

Me too!

Scenario: right pane shows $/teamproject/a/b, which is mapped to c:\workspace1\b. If I drag c:\users\ricberg\documents\file.txt onto the window, what should happen

  1. nothing; throw an error dialog
  2. file.txt is copied to c:\workspace1\b
  3. file.txt is moved to c:\workspace1\b
  4. user gets Browse For Folder dialog. new mapping created between <that server path> and c:\users\ricberg\documents
  5. $/teamproject/a/b is remapped to c:\users\ricberg\documents. [thus, existing versioned files will be copied from c:\workspace1\b -> c:\users\ricberg\documents the next time the user runs Get]
  6. user is prompted to choose from options #1-5 or some subset

Honest question. I'm a UI dummy. What would be most useful

The most intuitive and expected behaviour would be that the file is copied to c:\workspace1\b thus answer 2.
