Hi,

As our team moves through iterations, we'd like to default the

System.IterationPath

to the iteration value we need: Project\Iteration X

Tried <DEFAULT from="value" value="Project\Iteration X"/> to no avail.

Possible Ideas

Natively, there is not a way. This is something we are looking at for a future release, because there are obvious reasons why we would want to have it. (You've given one)

I have asked a developer to look into this for you, to see if there is a possible work around. I've asked him to post his answer on this forum entry.

Currently this will not work with Path fields, because all paths are actually calculated fields, and WI OM has a hack which allows user to edit it, instead of assigning tree node Id to IterationId field.

So, you can do the same thing with [System.IterationId] field, where value should be the Id of "Project\Iteration X" node.

You can find out node Id using OM or browsing work item history, where IterationId field can be found near by IterationPath field.

Hope, it helps,

I was wrong, it does not work. It seems there is no way of doing that.Sorry for a confusion,Valery Tolkov, MSFT
