Could you be in the wrong properties Build xxx.252 is the RTM (which you have installed as trial). There are no restrictions / differences between that trial and the a full installation. You should have - (when expanded) -Advanced -> Build Action (change this to "Not in Build") -Database Option -> ANSI Nulls -> Quoted Identifiers -Misc -> File Name -> Full Path in the DB Pro properties window when you select a table in the solution view. Hi, I am migrating a VS package (custom project type) from VS2005 to VS2008, I changed the registry root from 8.0 to 9.0, and replaced the references to new VSIP dlls. The project template appears in "New Project" dialog correctly, but when creating new project using the template, an error message pops up says "'<PathToMyProjectTemplate>' cannot be opened because its project type (.<MyProjectExt>) is not supported by this version of Visual Studio."     - Set value on edit It looks like you would like to fire a rule to EMPTY a field either 1) Whenever a work item is brought up for ediitng 2) Whenever ANY field in the work item is changed. From what you've described, it appears you really want #2, and no, there isn't a way to do that. You need to do a WHENCHANGED rule for each field you want to detect. Sorry. I'm in charge of it, and I have absolutely no experience with Report Server and MDX. I've looked around for some sort of beginner's guide to creating reports, but haven't found anything suitable.     - Label does not pick file under the root directory !!!! Yes, it should work whether or not they are mapped. What versionspec are you passing Make sure that the items are really there (not moved to another folder, not deleted) at that point in time. Also, try using tf labels /f:detailed to dump the contents of the label. Maybe there is a bug in the UI.     - Add/Remove operation is impossible, because the code element 'my module' is read only. Just recently I had to shut off my computer during a debug session with VS 2005 because the entire system had hung. I don't think the AfterBuild is actually firing.     - Can I debug 2 applications simultaneously? OK, just as a foreword, I would appreciate if anyone answering assumes a pretty low level of knowledge on my part (in all the relevant fields). Also I don't know if "applications" is the proper term. I am working with a web-application that calls to a web-service for for all DataAccess logistics. BusinessLogic and DataAccess sit in separate dlls. When I am debugging the web-site, breakpoints set in businessLogic say no symbols have been loaded and the breakpoitns will not be hit. Also, if I am debugging the web-application I cannot debug the web-service, and vice versa. Is there any way to have breakpoints hit in both applications (As well as in the other dlls ) Thanks.     - VS 2005 / ClearCase Lockup I'm running Visual Studio 2005 under WinXP Pro and am using Rational ClearCase client ver. 2003.06.16. Recently I tried to check out a .aspx file via ClearCase while connected to my employer's LAN via a VPN connection. It took about five minutes before I could open the .NET solution and then check out the file. Once I had done this, Visual Studio froze up on me so I had to kill my VS application process. When I restarted VS, VS opened a pop-up window that said VS had encountered a problem and needs to close. It also offered to send an error report to Microsoft (like would make a difference . I told VS to send it and so it did. However, whenever I try to open VS, I get this pop-up but VS won't actually start. I tried doing a repair-reinstall using my VS CDs and I also de-installed and then re-installed VS but I keep getting this error. I'm not unable to open VS. Is there anything else I can do to repair VS 2005 other than re-image my drive and re-install everything from scratch Thanks.     - Circular database references I work in a data warehouse environment, and we are striving to move to some sort of source control for our database objects. We've been testing DB Pro as a solution to this, but when you bring in over 10,000 database objects that have been created over the past 3 years, you tend to run into problems. We have ~20 databases on our production server, many which reference each other with 3 part naming conventions. Of course these references would throw errors when loading the project. With the creation of database references I was hopeful that this would solve our issue. Instead I receive an error I am familiar with when doing application development, that of circular references. My question is, in a database environment, why does it matter So if database A needs to query B, I can add a reference to B, but if B needs to query A, I cannot add a reference to B as this will cause a circular reference. The web app is running in the vpc on my desktop. MS Virtual PC is a window with another instance of WinXP running in it. I can get the vpc IP addr by start>cmd>ipaddr as I would in the real PC but the real PC has a different IP addr. Since vpc and TFS are both MS apps, there should be a way to interface them

My question is in regards to whether or not you can access the web site by opening ie normally and navigating to it. If not, then your problem is not related to the web test recorder and is most likely related to iis or firewall settings.

It turned out that the firewall on the vpc was blocking the TFS web recorder.
