There seems to be a bug with the AutoWordSelection property in the RichTextBox control in .Net 2005; it doesn't seem to take effect at all. Even if the property is set to False, the whole word still gets selected when the user drags across a line. Is there any way to work around this

I thought of making a call to the control using the SendMessage Win32 API, but couldn't figure out what value to pass in for the 'msg' parameter.

I'd suggest you post this Bug and repro steps in the Porduct Feedback center for faster tracking and resolution.

Thx, but this bug has already been logged, and in fact has been marked as "Will Not Fix". (http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/viewfeedback.aspx feedbackId=117af136-3a7f-4437-b8cc-fd02ee949971).

That's why I was hoping to get the Id of the Msg for the property, and try to set the property using the SendMessage API.

Insert this instruction in the form Load event:

RichTextBox1.AutoWordSelection = False

Bye!
