From my setup project (Visual Studio .Net 2005) I want to generate a .msi file name that contains the version number. Thus, instead of having the output as "myproject.msi", I want the file to be renamed to "myproject_1.0.0.0.msi" or something similar.

I tried postbuildevents, but there are no macros for version number.

Also, just like we have the wildcards in "windows applications" projects, I would like to have the ability to automatically increment the version number in setup projects.

Any help is appreciated.

Thats not a good idea because in a Minor Update the name of the .msi file must not change.
