    - Minimize MDI child forms Hi Krunal, If I understand your query correctly it can be split into two parts: Firstly you would like to minimize all the child windows on your MDI Parent for which you can use the solution provided by Chunsheng Tang or humble.apprentice above. I will try to answer the second part of your question i.e on how to create the effect of minimizing the windows to the MDI's status bar as minimized windows appear on the windows task bar. .Net does not provide this feature by default and will require you to do some coding for the same. Here's what I can suggest: 1) Drag and drop a StatusStrip control on your MDI parent window. This is the control which will hold your minimized windows (or atleast create the effect of holding the windows). 2) Create a public function in the MDI window class as follows: public void MinimizeWindowsOnStausBar(Form childForm) { //create an instance of a ToolStripButton which will give the effect of a window minimized in the StatusBar. ToolStripButton tsb = new ToolStripButton(childForm.Text); //use the Tag property of the ToolStripButton to hold the reference to the child window which is being minimized //as this reference will be used later to maximize the window when clicked in the status bar. tsb.Tag = childForm; //optionally set the backcolor of the ToolStripButton to give it the look and feel of the XP theme tsb.BackColor = Color.Blue; //assign an event handler for the button. Hello, I have datagrid that when a user double clicks the cell of any given row, the data on that row is transferred to some variables. The user wants to be able to not only double click the row but also use the Enter key to perform the same action. I am running into problems with the Enter key portion as the double click portion works great.     - Refresh issues in custom painting DGV Hi, I'm using a DGV with custom painting. The custom painting paints fields that cover more than one column however each field is contained within one row. Everything was working fine when I was inserting the fields into the first row but when I try to insert a field into the second row nothing appears at first. What I have to do is to select the cells that contains the field for it to show up. I've been trying to invoke the refresh of the DGV in different ways; using the Refresh method, the Invalidate method and also by deleting all of the column and adding them again but they all show the same problem as described above. Each field contains a variable that determines which row it belongs to. So to check if the field should be painted in a specfic cell I compare the row variable with the OwningRow.Index of the cell. Is the OwningRow automatically assigned to a cell Is that the right way to get the rowindex of the row that the cell belongs to Any help would be much appreciated.     - Passing a random resource image file to Picturebox Hi there, What I am trying to do is be able to draw an image (based on defining variables) to a picture box. My program randomly deals/shuffles cards but I am trying to figure out how to draw the random card. The problem I am running into now is how do I populate the picture box based on what card I need I can determine what card/suit of the card fine, but how can I pass a varying path to a resource file I tried...     - Scrolling 2 DataGridViews Simultaneously. I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this post but I couldnt find a WinForms forum to post this in. I have 2 data grids. I want one of the grid views to be slaved to the other. What I mean by that is that when the master gridview is horizontally scrolled I want the slave gridview to be horizontally scrolled by the same amount. I realized quickly that the scrollbars are not accessable programatically in a gridview. I am trying to use the following code to try and keep the scrollbars in synch.     - Custom Date Format in DateTimePicker(WinForms) Hi I am facing a problem when using DateTimePicker in Windows Form 2.0. I have a requirement where Date needs to displayed in Custom Format (January 2007) in datetimepicker. I am using CustomFormat for DateTimePicker as "MMMM yyy". Now when the System date is set to 31st January 2007 and on moving from Jan to Feb, application crashes with the following message. ArgumentOutOfRangeException. - Year, Month, and Day parameters describe an un-representable DateTime. This is because the DateTimePicker control is trying to set the date to 31st Feb 2007. This control contains a datagridview, which is filled with a datasource of type binding list Of (SomeObject). I have a form which display a list using this control. I affect the object list this way: dgvMain.DataSource = myObjectList When I affect a list containing 500 objects (which are equivalent to 500 rows), it takes up to 30 seconds to finish the process. When I try with a list of 10 000 objects, I receive a ContextSwitchDeadlock.     - Multiple ICONS Hi, Can any one explain. My local application StartsUp automatically when the machine is started, it then minimises itself and places an icon in the desktop task bar. Actions are done by the user which are handled by the application either totally in the background, or by showing the application on the desktop and then once the action is complete hiding the application again.     - Improperly Formatted Nate, It looks like you are running into a know Beta2 issue. Visual Studio does not correctly sign ClickOnce manifests when the assembly name contains a space. The work around is to change your assembly name to something like 'TestApp' or 'Test_App'. The assembly name can be changed on the Application Property Page. Can someone help me I want to retain the last selection with my dropdowns. Either ToolTipSplit or normal, i want the selection to display the last selection that I pick.

The selection is determined by the position of the mouse. Retaining is pretty pointless, you'll immediately lose it. Do you need a check mark

First off, thanks for replying.

I need more than just a check mark. I need it to display as the item that I selected. In visual studio, after selecting a certain item in a split drop down or normal drop item, the item on the drop down is now defaulted to the last thing that I selected. I have a number of people using my application, and each individual uses a different selection more than others. So, I need this to display what is last used first because it will probably be the one that the user uses the most.
