    - Draw on another display I have an application in which I would like to play a video in full screen on another display. I am able to list all connected display devices using the System.Windows.Forms.Screen class, and I have no problem playing a video in full screen using Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback.Video. However, I am unable to figure out how to display this on another monitor. I am fully aware that I will likely have to create a form on the second display and play the video from there, but as far as I can tell there is no way to do this from the Screen class.     - GDI+ button image painting problem Hi again, I have already tried removing the BitmapToGraphicsPath() method but the result is the same i.e. the flickering still persist. Secondly, I am not iterating over every pixel, I am just trying to find the first opaque pixel per row and then reaching the end opaque pixel through the first pixel index so, therefore it would not take that much of time. The time taken by the AddRectangle() method is greater than the GetPixel() method in this method. Now, what I want to tell you is that the DrawImage() method where ever used is taking most of the time. The only solution I can think of now is using Managed DirectX. Please correct me if I am wrong.     - DataGridView.CellValidating event problems I am having many problems with the CellValidating event. In many cases while editing cells and focus is moved elsewhere in the app (other focusable controls), the CellValidating event does not fire. Since this is the only means I know of by which to capture the leaving of a cell being edited so I can validate, I'm stuck.     - Find Target and Change Icons buttons are disabled for desktop Shotcut of my application Dear All, I have made a setup of a C# window application in which i create an icon on the desktop. But the problem with this shortcut is that whenever i right click on it & go to property, its Find Target and Change Icon buttons are disabled. The difference that i have observed between other standard applications shortcuts and this one is that its Target Location on the property page is not set which are set for other ones whereas Target property just points to the name of the application.     - Using IMenuCommandService Your class looks ok, but you should switch back to using a standard ContextMenu so your app isn't dependent on that third party control. There are only a couple of differences between mine and yours. First I keep track of where the menu is for internal reasons. I added my Undo and redo commands in the constructor AddCommand(new MenuCommand(new EventHandler(this.ExecuteUndo), StandardCommands.Undo)); AddCommand(new MenuCommand(new EventHandler(this.ExecuteRedo), StandardCommands.Redo)); Then added the handlers void ExecuteUndo(object sender, EventArgs e) { UndoEngineImpl undoEngine = _host.GetService(typeof(UndoEngine)) as UndoEngineImpl; if (undoEngine != null) undoEngine.DoUndo(); } void ExecuteRedo(object sender, EventArgs e) { UndoEngineImpl undoEngine = _host.GetService(typeof(UndoEngine)) as UndoEngineImpl; if (undoEngine != null) undoEngine.DoRedo(); } Other than that they are pretty close to the same except for a special addVerbs method that I have. So I don't think the problem is with your class. Where did you add the designer verbs and what did you add (or did you even do this) ;) What I mean is that if you want do to a Paste for example you would need to call {YourMenuServiceImplementation}.AddVerb(_YourSpecialVerb); Where _YourSpecialVerb is something like DesignerVerb _YourSpecialVerb = new DesignerVerb ( "Exec My Function" , new EventHandler (MyFunction)); And your event handler woudl be public void MyFunction( object sender, EventArgs e) { //your implementation here } You could put something like _MyMenuService.GlobalInvoke(StandardCommands.AlignRight): or any of the StandardCommands inside the method. The point is that the commands are ready to be used, but you need to do the implementation by adding Verbs I'm betting. If you've done this let me know and we'll go on.     - Database connection problems Hi all, I have been working on this problem for the full past 2 days, i really need some ones help...PLEASE. I have what at first seems to be a common problem, I have added textboxs etc from the data source. This in turn brought up the table adapter, binding navigator etc. I have the binding controls working except they do not write back to the database. In trying to resolve this issue i downloaded leeson 9 (data binding) from the microsoft web site and found that even this pre written program will not update data back to the database. I am completly baffled by this and really need help on tackling this problem as I am learning this for a university project and the deadline is fast approaching. any help on this issue would be very appriciated.     - How can i get desktop's icon's information ? I will write a sample for you to demonstrate how to get the desktop icon locations. First, actually the desktop is a large ListView, if you use SPY++ to see the handle of the desktop, you will find that there is a window with the title Program Manager , under which is another window of SHELLDLL_DefView type without title, below it is a window of SysListView32 type with caption of FolderView . So, we can use the FindWindow and FindWindowEx API to get the ListView which host the desktop icons, and use SendMessage API to send LVM_GETITEMPOSITION message to get the icon positions, however, since each process has its own memory, we can't steal program's memory directly from one process to another, we need some trick, we can allocate memory in the address space of the desktop ListView and read from that, this can be done by VirtualAllocEx () API. Now, the problem is to get the process handle of the ListView, we can use GetWindowThreadProcessId API to get the PID of the desktop window process, and use OpenProcess () to get a handle to the process.     - Custom Updates Problem that's isn't the problem, the problem is that you configure the deployment as you said, then when you use the client application and an update is available, the application informs that to the user, then if the user skip the update, the next time when the application starts, clickonce checks for a new update like when the application is configure to work as check for updates when application starts. In simple words, the application change the configuration for no check for updates to check for updates at startup if the user skip to install an update.
