    - Label auto height I'm building a custom messagebox. All works fine, but I thing not.... I want my messagebox auto resizes in height when adding more text than expected in design mode. In design mode a draw a label of 4 lines of text, but when I call the new messagebox with much more text, it disappears. The call of the messagebox may have 10 lines of text, without any "environment.newline". So, in that case the messagebox AND the label have to resize in height (not in width!).     - Datagridview overwriting all rows if populated unfocussed! Hi, I have a tab control with 2 tab pages. Both pages have a datagridview on and show similar information. I initially populate them with by using a bindingsource (bound to a binding list of custom objects). I then scan the bindingsource and dynamically create multiple unbound columns and populate the relevant cells. This works fine for the first (displayed) tab but not the second. If the first tab is displayed when the datagridview is populated the second DGV's unbound columns show null values. This doesn't happen the opposite way round (the unbound columns populate ok). I created a collection of datagridviewcells so that i could monitor the cells to see when they were being changed back to null. Turns out they're not being changed, infact, all of the rows are being replaced with new rows! I'm guessing this has something to do with the databinding and focus of the DGV but i can't detect any events happening when i activate the second tab with the DGV on! Any help much appreciated! ** Forgot to mention - if i reload the data while the program's still running it works fine! I have overridden the OnPaint event to render the PDF page. I am only adding controls that relate to PDF Form Fields(i.e. Empty Signature, text boxes, radio buttons etc) page wise. For each page i have a panel and then i add those form fileds init as child control. So the method which i sent was only specifc to the form fileds. I sucessfully add them but when i try to move those controls on scrolling the contrlols flicker and they really do look ugly. When you double-click the file we recreate the connection for you. But what's interesting is why the connection isn't created automatically when you open the project.     - Assigning icon from default settings on target machine I know that the icon for the .pdf extension is correct as the file that the start menu shortcut is targeted at (in the installation folder in Program Files) has the correct icon. Also I can query the registry to extract the correct icon. This information just doesn't seem to get passed on to the shortcut in the Start menu though. If I create a shortcut by hand, next to the actual PDF, it picks up the correct icon. If I move this shortcut to the start menu, it still has the correct icon. There just seems to be something special about the shortcut that the Visual Studio setup project creates (if I right-click on it and select Properties, the Change Icon button is greyed out, unlike the shortcut I created by hand). With the form set to autovalidate = diabled, then a call to validatechildren causes validate events on all the controls on the form, but only the first one with changed contents generates a property-set call. However - once I implemented INotifyPropertyChanged in my object, (even without actually raising the event at all ) everything behaved as it should . . .very strange. I then decided to try setting the maskedTextbox1.ValidationType = typeof(int); and setting up a typeValidationCompleted event, but unless the whole mask is completed (4 digits), it fails.     - Parent, child forms check if open or closed Hi all, I'm new to c# and currently working on a project containing mdi forms. This is how the project is layed out. Parent form is called Street_Index. This contians a menu strip which can open 2 different forms. * Street_Search * Office_Search Within the Street_search form there is a button that i click that returns the results in another form called Search_Results. Search Results contains a grid and on double clicking the column of the grid it returns the results of that row back to Street_Search form which displays them in textboxes, grid, combobox, etc.. Within the Office_Search form there is also a button that opens the Search_Results form and then from there you can double click on the grid within Search_Results and open up Street_Search form which will display the results as previous. Now i'd like to give the user the option of: selecting multiple records in the grid by checking a checkbox. this checkbox is available for each row of data and i created it by adding an unbound column. When we execute RemoveAt(0) followed by another RemoveAt(0), the first two items got removed. If we execute RemoveAt(0) followed by RemoveAt(1), "Alpha" and "Charlie" got removed. What I want to achieve is: I can multi-select items in the ListView to decide which items i'd like to delete. For example, I select "Alpha" and "Delta", so the index 0 and 3 are stored in SelectedIndexCollection. Then I enumerate this collection to delete these two in one run. At this time, if I run RemoveAt(0) first, the index of "Delta" will be changed to 2. Hi,

I am creating a simple htm file on disk that points to a particular flash file (swf). But when I point the url of the web browser to this file, it loads but the place where the swf file should show up, only shows the square X mark, meaning the file couldn't be found or be displayed.

When I run the file in windows by double clicking, it asks me if I trust the file (using the information bar), and when I say Allow Blocked content, it shows the swf.

Is there a way to turn this off, or work around this I am not even sure if this is the problem. Because I see various software that does this, like wink. It opens an htm file showing a particular swf.

Bring the SWF out of Temporary Internet Files (if it's in there, which, it probably is).

Thanks for replying. The swf file is not in Temp...I...Files, but in places like C:\, desktop, and somewhere in program files. None of these worked.

Under Internet Options in IE, click the Advanced Tab.

Under Security, check "Allow content from My Computer"

Thanks, I tried it, but didn't work. Not only that but if it would, that would still require me to turn off the setting in the users computer, which might be bad.

I really don't know the reason, but I tried using the same htm the wink software has produced and it worked.

So I use a specific name for the video and copy the selected video (100-400kb) near this file with a specific name, and refresh the we browser and voila!

I am glad this worked!!
