    - how to stream html to client? I have a String variable in an asp.net application, and I would like to ship/stream/send that off to the client to display in their browser/IE, how can I do that I looked all over but am unable to find it. Unfortunately I am unable to access to the file structure to send back a canned/existingn URL (this is a print confirmation page), and I would like to ship back the html I do have in a variable.     - Developing ASP.net pages with IE7 When I add a button to a form in the designer then run the program in debug mode (views in IE 7) the button extends to the end of the form.     - IE7 Freezes I installed IE7 when it was new, and I've kept up with all the patches through Microsoft Update. I have XP home edition with a souped up NVidia graphics card, and my desktop system is over 2 years old so it's not the very latest. IE 7 freezes quite often when I'm on a web site. It happens on a lot of web sites, such as www.NFL.com and the flash based courses at epgy.stanford.edu. But it even happens on plain text web sites like www.zoltan.org . It doesn't seem to be related to a specific reproducible action or a common feature of the web sites. It just seems to freeze and become unresponsive. I have to terminate IE7 and it works OK when I restart it -- at least for a while. I have laptops with IE7 and they don't have the same problem.     - HELP!!! I dont know where my program is installing!!! :( So, after publishing the first version of my webBrowser to a folder on my desktop, I ran the setup, and that was that.     - IE7 displaying local images Hi everyone, I am in the process of creating an image upload form, and I need to display a preview of the image to the user before it gets uploaded. I did not anticipate this to be any problem, and it wasn't until I tried using it with IE7. It is not working. I know that there must be some sort of security setting (this is a ridiuclous setting, by the way) that doesnt allow for this. Where can I find this setting so I can instruct my users how to fix it to allow the image to be previewable They will need to have this capability and there is no way around this. With an image upload form, the user chooses the image themself. So why on earth am I not able to display it back to them They chose it!! This is the most ridiculous security precaution I have came across yet. I can understand not letting javascript have access to the file system, don't get me wrong here. But why in the heck can't I take the value of a file upload control (that is read-only) and put it as the SRC of an image Absolutely ridiculous!!     - IE7 won't accept my cookie I'm currently trying to figure out why IE7 won't accept my cookie (used to persist a session ID). The cookie is correctly sent with subsequent requests by Firefox and Opera, but not by IE7.     - MSHTML and C# OK, I'm trying to load a string containing HTML with MSHTML but I'm having some trouble. My code is... object[] objTemp = { "<html>...</html>" }; IHTMLDocument2 objHTML; objHTML = new HTMLDocumentClass(); objHTML.writeln(objTemp); objHTML.execCommand("Print", false, null); When I check the objHTML.writeln in VS 2005 it shows that it wants object[] but when I check the MS site it shows it wanting a SAFEARRAY structure. It keeps complaining that it can't use the object I've created and passed to write(). I've created a reference to Microsoft.mshtml, I dont know if I'm missing reference.     - Internet Explorer 6.0 and mshtml.dll Error Problem: IE 6.0 browser fails with a “Internet Explorer has encountered a problem…” window. The error points to: Internet explorer and mshtml.dll 6.0.2900.2853 We are in the process of testing our newest UI using BackBase AJAX framework 3_3_1 in QA server. A lot of our clients are using older versions of IE 6.0 and they do not want to upgrade to IE 7. We were able to work around the issue by upgrading IE6 with all High Priority patches and then upgrading to IE 7.0 and then uninstalling IE 7.0 back to IE 6.0. This “solved” the issue but why The issue is that I need a solution to fix IE 6.0 mshtml.dll failure without having to upgrade to IE 7.0 Thanks, Carlos A Acosta You may recreate problem running IE 6.0 by : 1. Using web browser: http://qa-server1.avatarlms.com/login.html#[0 ] 2. Click on “Show All Classes” on the left navigation. 3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list/page and you will see paginator “First Last 1 2 3 4 56 Next Last” 4. Click on 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 2 then 4 until you get the IE Report Error popup. Following are the detailed scenarios that we follow to work around this problem: 1. Install WinXP SP2 volume license from MSDN and installed no Windows update patches. Result: IE browser failed. 2. Install WinXP SP2 volume license from MSDN then installed all High priority windows updates by selecting all IE6 cumulative updates only. – Result: IE browser will work. But I do not have control over clients machine to re-install Win XP SP2 and upgrade in the “right sequence”. 3. Install WinXP SP2 and install some hot fixes first, then installed IE6 cumulative updates only. This scenario is typical of our clients. Result: IE browser failed. 4. Continue with scenario 3 and installed all high priority patches and IE6 patches from windows upgrade site. Result: IE6 browser failed. 5. Continue with scenario 4 and upgrade to IE 7.0. Result:IE7 browser works. But clients do not want to upgrade to IE 7.0 6. Continue with scenario 5 and uninstalled IE.7.0 back to IE 6.0. Results: IE 6.0 works. This is a work around the issue if clients are willing to upgrade to 7.0 and downgrade back to IE 6.0.     - Programmatically reading Cookies on Windows Vista using .NET? My toolbar (as referenced in my other posts) has a "Login" link on it, that dynamically changes to "Logout" if my user is currently logged into the website the toolbar is tied to.     - IE7 InternetExplorer.Application object issues? I have a VB6 app that uses the InternetExplorer.Application object to open a browser window. It works fine with IE6. With IE7, when I call the Navigate method and pass it a URL (in this case it is an https:// URL), an IE7 window appears and the tab on it says "connecting...".     - Sessions in IE7 Hi I am pulling my hair out over this problem, and am getting to the stage where I'm gonna scream. All these pages work perfectly on IE6, Firefox, Netscape etc, but I have come across a problem when testing them on IE7. Here's the problem: I have a web based system where a user logs into the site. Upon signing in, a number of PHP $_SESSION variables get populated with data, so that the subsequent pages know that he is allowed to visit them, and who he is. One of these variables is: $_SESSION['username'] At the top of all subsequent pages, the php script reads: < php session_start(); if (!isset($_SESSION['username'])) { header("Location:unauthorised.php"); exit; } > This effectively checks to see if the user is logged in, and if not, sends them to the "unauthorised" page. This check works fine. However, on one of these subsequent pages, I have a link that opens a new window with some information, using the standard <a tag. This is the link : <a href="new_page.php" target="_blank">Click here</a> Now, this "new_page.php" also has the script that checks to see if the user logs in. This new page is displayed fine. HOWEVER, and this is my problem........ When I close this new window (using IE7 - it works fine in other browsers), and am left with the original page with the link on it, my session data seems to disappear. If I click on refresh, I'm taken to my "unauthorised" page. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IN IE7 So, to recap......... 1) User logs in and session variable stores $_SESSION['username'] 2) User goes to new page (page checks to see if logged in - which he is) 3) User click on link on this page which opens new window (using target="_blank"). 4) This new window displays fine (page checks to see if logged in - which he is) 5) Close this new window, leaving the original page with the link on 6) Refresh the page (or click the link again) and all session data is lost - sent to unauthorised page This is only a problem in IE7. Can someone please suggest a workaround for this issue. I'm almost positive it's a IE7 fault, but am amazed that there aren't loads of people with this issue posting on forums.     - IE7 disabling navigation sounds by thread Hi, I am trying to suppress IE sounds occuring when navigation is complete (I use an ActiveX browser control). To achieve this, I am using the CoInternetSetFeatureEnabled function. It works fine with the SET_FEATURE_ON_PROCESS flag, but as it disables any sounds in case of each browser control amongst the application, it would be better to use a more specific solution, so SET_FEATURE_ON_THREAD (or SET_FEATURE_ON_THREAD_LOCALMACHINE) comes into consideration. I called it right before calling the Navigate method of the browser control. Although the return value is S_OK, the click sound remains... there are not so many sources on the web on this topic (yet )..     - IE7 Certificate Request/Enrollment With IE7, I've noticed the original ActiveX method of generating a client certificate request and installing the signed certificate no longer work (xenroll.dll calling CreatePKCS10() and acceptPKCS7()). How do you do this now with IE7. Vista customers with IE7 don't even have access to xenroll.dll. I have been unable to find much documentation on this change, only that the old way was replaced with "something new", but no details on what the something new is called.     - Browser threads and Ajax Hello Guys: As I recall, IE 6 browser supports 2 threads. Somehow I just could not find this info anywhere on my google search :=( bad search creteria or what ) . Basically I am also trying to find that info for FireFox as well. Any body can share more info on the browser thread info What I am trying to understand is that because javascript does not support threading by itself and how browser thread plays a role in Ajax calls Since async calls are all fire and forget, Does that mean, each thread, say in IE situation, is responsible for one XMLHttpRequest and once the async call comes back and frees up that thread, another call can be made.     - IWebBrowser-control memory leak. Hi, Scenario - - I am using WebBrowser control to navigate different pages. Its an MFC application. - These pages also contains references to Java Script and images. Problem - - When the page is navigated using Navigate method it occupies certain amount of memory, which is obvious. However, it doesn't release it when WebBrowser control is destroyed. - I also created a small dialog based application and embedded IWebBrowser conrol in it. I browsed a blank page using Navigate method, more than 2000kb virutal memory was occupied as per the Task Manager. After destroying the IWebBrowser control, the memory occupied was not released.     - using xml data islands - XMLDocument is undefined Hi, I'm trying to select nodes in an xml data island on the client side. I have come across examples, even in MSDN, of using <name of a data island>.XMLDocument. For example: var oNode = oMetaData.XMLDocument.selectSingleNode("METADATA/ABSTRACT"); where oMetaData is the name of an xml data island. This doesn't seem to work for me. When I debug the JavaScript, I find that XMLDocument is undefined. (The data island itself is defined and oMetaData.InnerXml is defined.)     - Displaying MessageBox in IE Hello Everyone, I am currently in process of modifying a code for IE toolbar which I believe is based on this article: http://www.codeproject.com/atl/ietoolbartutorial.asp . There is a button on this toolbar that calls a third-part screen capturing software (SnagIt). When user clicks on a button, message box is displayed with [OK][Cancel] button. If user OK’s the action, the request for processing will be posted (PostMessage(WM_SNAG, 0,0)). The problem that I have is that depending on a screen content (images/flah), after clicking on [OK] button, you will still see the MessageBox image at its last location untill end of the processing.     - IE7 session variable bug ? Hi I developed a site about 6 months ago, written in Cold Fusion MX 7. A simple log-in page creates a session struct() variable upon successful log-in and then re-directs the member to their login home page area. On the login home page area, a simple script runs to see if a session variable exists, and if it dosnt, redirects them back to the login page. This is so that people cant access their login home page directly, without logging in. The site works fine in Mac OSX, all browsers and on PC, all browsers, except for IE 7.     - BHO fails on pages having activeX control I have created a Browser Plugin which handles onDocumentComplete event. It works fine on HTML pages. But if I open a html page (let's say google.com), and then open another page having an activeX control, then once I close this activeX page, then my old page, google.com hangs.     - Issue Downloading a file in IE7 Hi, Have been working on this issue for the past 2 days and nt able to get it resolved. I am having a Servlet which is used to download a file to the client. After a successful download I am removing it from the session since it need not be downloaded again. The issue is that when I attempt the same with IE7 with default setting IE7 blocks the download and thus displays the information Bar regarding the blocked download. However in reality the code in the servlet is executed without any exception being thrown (Since IE7 has blocked the download), thus making it impossible to track an event that the download is blocked. In turn hence, the bean is getting deleted from session and when the user allows the Download from the info bar, the bean is not there in the session and thus cannot download. ever since I got internet explorer 7 every time I go online it pops up with this window that says work offline or reconnect even though I am online.

as soon as it opens explorer why would it do this

I have never saved a webpage to work offline either.
