Hi

Currently got a basic html file containing a simple <FORM..> definition to post pre-defined data when the user selects the button within the HTML.

For example:

<FORM ACTION="C:\HTML\Event.html" METHOD="POST">

<INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" NAME="TroubleShoot" VALUE="Troubleshoot Data">

</FORM>

The HTML page is generated dynamically depending on what the user is doing and can generate a number of entries similar to the above holding different data generated using data from a database.

The application (written in C++) uses the BeforeNavigate2 event to capture when this button is pressed and works fine in IE6, but since IE7 has been installed, the event is no longer being received.

Does anyone have any information about this problem and is there a fix for this

Thanks

Matt

Re: Internet Explorer Extension Development BeforeNavigate2 event failing when fired via <FORM ACTION.....POST> in IE7

In IE7, there was some reworking of the ShDocVw.dll and the introduction of ieframe.dll (which now holds IE related events, instead of shdocvw.dll). Your development tools and project may be referencing the old Shdocvw.dll, causing them not have the right signature for the event.

Make sure that you have downloaded the latest Platform SDK and are building against the latest binaries. This will ensure proper functionality.

Thanks,

Reza

Hi Reza

We are currently developing with Dev Studio 6 and Platform SKD Feb 2003, as we have not yet moved onto a newer version of Dev Studio.

We have to support both IE6 and IE7 for PC and Internet Explorer delivered with Pocket PC 2003 and .Net Tablet PCs.

The actual HTML is common throughout.

I'm in the middle of setting up a second development PC to use Dev Studio .Net 2003 and the latest R2 SDK for Server 2003 in order to build against the latest binaries.

Will post the results when I have them.
