I was curious to find that our installer failed to update our BHO on systems with IE7. I trailed it down to the RunOnceEx keys (see kb 232509). The keys added by our installer were ignored. They work fine on systems without IE7.

I moved the keys to RunOnce, and that solves the problem. I'd prefer to use the RunOnceEx, but I was mostly just wondering if this is a known problem, and whether it's by design.

Thanks,

- Henri

I've encountered the same problem and have found that this is occuring due to a change in the iernonce.dll file. After a bit of testing, I have found that you can still launch the runonceex process by copying the IE6 version of the iernonce.dll file into any location and executing the runonceex command using it.

DirectX causes the same problem. The october 10 releases breaks runonceex as well.

The last ms update kb928090 solve the probleme. runonceex now work but:

- i have to hide the runonceex window to make it work, adding this line in my runonceex.cmd file under the title line:

REG ADD %KEY% /V Flags /T REG_DWORD /D 128 /F

- i can't use a network drive to install from a server my softwares. "net use" is not usable... with ie6, it's possible to do a network drive and install softwares from it with runonceex

- at the first boot after win xp installation, network doesn't work, i have to reboot and then the network is usable.

a new update please or a new ie7 installation package would be great!

Thank you most kindly Lorente Jeremie.
Your remedy worked perfectly for me, I have slipstreamed IE7 and KB
928090 plus four other IE7 Updates/Hotfixes, plus RyanVM Update Packs, into XP SP2 Pro using nLite V1.3.5.
Your advice to add
REG ADD %KEY% /V Flags /T REG_DWORD /D 128 /F
had RunOnceEx working (almost) as it did prior to the addition of IE7.

I really do not care that I do not now have a visible dialog showing the list of Programs etc. to be installed.
