Problem: when user login to my application with his user id and password he is able to see his information. IF he is trying to click some other menu PersonalData in my application he is able to see other person profile. Technically: when he logged into application i am storing his id in session. I am using this session id in my PersonalData asp page in where condition area for retrieving his information. Could you please let me know in which scenario it will change the session id. I have made part of the right click to work in IE7 by getting the document object, getting the location from it and assigning a different URL to it. The part that is not working is when the explorer bar is in a closed state and when I am trying to invoke it using ShowExplorerBar from a BHO. And that is what I have posted in this thread. The reason it is not working is because I am unable to get to the document object and IWEBBrowser2.Navigate doesn't go through also.     - Issue with Internet Explorer 7 - Security Prompt I have programmed an application that uses WMI Scripting to check the Serial Number of the Hard Disk Drive. The user connects to the Web Server and then the Web application should check and show the Serial Number. However, this works in Internet Explorer 6 (the browser asks the user if he/she allows to run ActiveX). In Internet Explorer 7 a Prompt appears and disappears and the user cannot tell the browser if he/she allows or not ActiveX execution (this is if the IE is configured to ask the user, because if it's configured to allow execution, the application works, but there is a security issue and the company will not alllow this).     - IE7 Start up problem Hello Matt, first thing to do would be to specify your computer specifications, including the connection speed not that this should have any effect on the way the program runs unless its is not an always on connection (need to enter user name and passpord to connect) in which case the process might freeze while its waiting for an internet connection to be made to the service, but thats just a theory. The file WLLoginProxy.exe belongs to Microsoft R Windows Live Login Helper which is a legit service. I tried doing some research into it but couldnt actually find what exactly the file does, my guess is it that as its a browser helper object it helps log you into the microsoft services (Live ID login) which connects most of the microsoft featues like livespace, MSDN, microsoft.com, hotmail.com ect.. by signing you in when your computer starts (same way that it connects to the .NET passport on windows login, which is why it says how many e-mails you have in your inbox on the login screen under your account name if you have it enabled). You said you tried disabling it from the add-ons and that didnt work when you say that did you click on disable from the add-on menu in internet explorer If that's the case then try dowloading and installing http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/strun_setup.exe this is a program that lets you control your startup programs like MSCONFIG.exe does from the run command, only this program shows the active running background programs as the WLLoginProxy.exe doesnt appear in the startup on msconfig.exe, anyway if you install and run the program then go to the bottom of the screen you will see "Windows Live Sign-In Helper" right click on it and click on "Disable selected items" this will stop the file from running in the future, this shouldnt have any effect on the way windows runs as it can be disabled (but doesnt work in your case) from the IE7 add-ons, if you do have any problems just let me know ozolayer@hotmail.com and i'll see if i can give u anymore help. However, I don't think this is the problem. It appears that the crash occurs *any* time that I try to access the COM server. In the Acrobat PDF viewer (and other viewers such as Google Earth, Virtual Earth, etc) this drags the "page" as the mouse moves. IE should do the same. Besides compatibility with other viewers, this allows for less mouse movement (i.e. looking for the elivator in the scroll bar) to move up/down as you read text (or taking your hand off the mouse to find the page-up/down buttons.) Not everyone has a "wheel mouse". I'm using a Versapoint RF wireless keyboard to type this on a full screen IE7 showing on a large screen HDTV driven by Vista. The "rocker" mouse built into this keyboard is slow at going over to the scroll bar (and it is not all that easy to see on the TV)... I can increase the text size to make it easy to read/type text, but the scroll bar does not increase in size correspondingly).     - Injecting JavaScript into a DIV Element Hello, everyone. I'm working with many people on a web development project. The team is using AJAX to send and receive configuration information to determine the customized content that appears within various elements on the page. Currently, the flow is rather simple. A user will make a request, the browser will make an AJAX call to the server, and the server will return HTML markup that describes the appearance/behavior of the desired element within the page. Until recently, this has been working without issue, until it came time to test this with IE7. All our markup has been rendering as expected, except for one particular request which returns a small amount of JavaScript in a <SCRIPT> tag to handle some of the wonkier behavior.  Whenever this request was made, the <DIV> where the markup should be injected is a blank, whereas every other request would render properly. After closer inspection, it appears that IE7 is stripping out everything within the <SCRIPT> tags, including the tags themselves, before injecting the markup.  Consider the following: var responseText = " <p>Begin Script</p> <script type='text/javascript'> // random JavaScript code </script> <p>End Script</p> "; displayArea.innerHTML = responseText; alert(innerHTML); In Mozilla Firefox, as intended, the page will draw an alert box containing indentical contents to the response text, including the <SCRIPT> information. In IE7, the alert box displays the following: <p>Begin Script</p> <p>End Script</p> Naturally, the <SCRIPT> content is missing. It's not difficult to figure out why IE7 would be stripping the information out, considering the potential security threats of passing unwanted JavaScript to the browser. At the same time, though, other browsers do support this without incident, and I would like to know if there's another reason for this behavior besides what we've already theorized. With that in mind, is there any way of circumventing the problem Another team member has suggested using regular expressions to pass all the <SCRIPT> snippets to an eval() function to be executed "the hard way" though this seems somewhat inelegant. I was curious as to whether or not anyone had any additional suggestions. The code authenticates at the server OK but the response, which happens to be a pdf file returned by Reporting Services, gets truncated (maybe 200 bytes worth). The response header is fine. When I try getting the same report using wfetch, I get to see the whole pdf file (all of the response data is sent). Hi, i have a problem with IE7 and javascript function window.showModalDialog, In the new window, click any button will generate a new window i add the line:

<base target="_self">

in the child window,but problem continue with IE7.

It��s working IE6 without problems.

Help me!!!

<base target="_self"> is the only available fix. You can delete all the cache & offline files from your browser.Then test it again.

Hi , I am having the same problem , I am also using <base target="_self"> , when I run in IE6 and win xp ,it runs fine. But when I runs in windows server 2003,IE7 problem persists.I have also deleted cashe,history,cookies etc and tried but all in vain. Kindly help me.

Hi All,

I had this same problem for the past 2 days. And was feeling very down for not solving the problem.

And today I came to office and simply searched for "window.showModalDialog" and found some articles on the same issue.

And also found that some solved the issue with the following HTML tag in the popup page

I tried the same and it solved all the problems.

Hope no one again gets struck with the same problem.

And does that provide any other problems......... Hope not
