    - ie 7 links toolbar doesnt stick Hi Bulls & Bears, To reset the IE7 toolbar layout 1. Close all open IE windows. 2. Find the Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser in the registry. 3. Rename the value ITBar7Layout (eg. ITBar7Layout-old) 4. Open IE7, it will now have the default Toolbar layout. Right click on the toolbar and select Links from the toolbar context menu. The links bar should now appear on your toolbar (see below if it doesn't) 5. Close IE7. This will save the toolbar layout settings back to the registry. Check the registry key above and you will see that a new ITBar7Layout value will have been created. Open IE7 again and it should have the links toolbar in the position that you saved it. If the Links toolbar still does not appear.... I suspect that blank values for any of the @,MenuTextPUI or an Incorrect ThreadingModel values may prevent the Links bar from appearing, even though it is listed in the IE7 Toolbar context menu. Hi, No, The documentaion says that you should have 2 icon sizes, 22x22 px and 16x16 px, but this is not required. I have made toolbar buttons with normal sized icons (32x32) and even 48x48.     - QuickTime plug in problem I have had video on web pages, using the usual object/embed tags to play QuickTime video and they were working just fine. Suddenly (I believe after switching to IE 7), I'm getting plug-in errors. When I run the page from my c: drive, I'm asked to allow blocked content and then it plays fine.     - IE Forms / Caret Position Bug?? I'm using IE 7, and working with an ASP.NET page. If I click on a form field (textbox or textarea on this page) at the same time that one of my regular expression validators fires (making the page move down a bit), my text caret appears in a non-editable, standard HTML section of the page. I can then type away, or use backspace to remove static HTML that was there. If I press the enter key, the text caret moves to the field I initially tried to click on.     - what is this? plz help I am still tracking down this on the network I admin, but I can tell you what I know so far, maybe it will help you or someone else: We have a residential (ie: I don't control what is on them) network here of up to 500 computers at any one time. Currently there is a machine doing an ARP-cache poisoning attack against the network. For some unknown reason, it is inserting the string "1^LIBraBBGvB8i~o+Z~UU L5{B~SLIB5C" into HTTP responses just after the HTTP headers. I presume (NOTE: this is speculation, I have not yet been able to examine the machine in question) that this is due to a trojan/worm or other malware on the system performing the attack, possibly trying to spread itself to other computers on the subnet accessing the web running a vulnerable web browser - although I have not yet identified the effect of that string, so it may be for some other purpose. I suggest you check other machines on your network for possible compromises. Use a program like wireshark to examine network traffic to see if there are a continuous stream of ARP responses that _appear_ to be from your router to every other IP address in the subnet, but telling them in incorrect MAC - the computer with that MAC will be the culprit - you may use nmap to find the IP address of the machine. Alternatively if you are using a managed switch, you can look for the MAC that maps to just about every IP address on the subnet. With the above example, the problem does not present itself if you change the threading model from " Apartment Threaded " to " Single Threaded ". This works in both IE6 and IE7 so far. hi,

i need some help...usually what i coudl do was to drag and drop thr address bar onto my desktop and it woudl create a internet shortcut...it still does this...however it used to use the title bar of the webpage as the internet shortcuts filename but now it just takes the actual webpage file name as the shortcut filename

i hope this makes sence

anyway i want to be able to fix this so i can drag and drop files onto the desktop so that they will have the title of the webpage as the shortcut filename

How long ago did it stop working for you If you drag a link to your desktop, does it do the same thing (create a shortcut with the URL rather than the text of the link)

On my system, dragging the page icon from the address bar still creates a link with the page title... which means something is misbehaving on your end. (Not exactly what you were hoping to hear, no doubt.)

it would seems as if it messed up when the last update was installed last week if i remember correctly...didnt really notice it at first
