    - Browser Extensions in IE7 Vista I found out the reason why this error occurs. My extension is a DLL that is registered during installation by running a batch file. The DLL is registered using Regsvr32 with the "silent mode" switch. Unfortunately, Regsvr32 doesn't register properly when UAC is turn on eventhough I am already logged in as Administrator when I ran the installation. Turning UAC off, I was able to register the DLL. Microsoft needs to evaluate/balance the need for UAC as a preventive security measure and at the same time the hassle it creates for Windows Users migrating to Vista.     - window.onresize in IE7 causes infinite loop on window.onload This is a flaw or bug in IE7. I have run across the same problem, and spent three hours nailing it down. Here it is as far as I can tell: IE7 improperly fires off a 'Browser Resized' event when the first dynamically generated content region is made visible. What I mean by 'the first', is the first one that appears throws this event. I say 'dynamically generated content REGION', because it doesn't happen to inline content, only content generated by javascript. To make things worse, I haven't been able to make a simplified test case for this so I don't know if my explanation is 100% accurate, but I *HAVE* found a work around. Work Around: In my case, I do everything through an onload event. In the onload event, BEFORE everything else, I simply created a new floating content region with nothing in it. It looks like: newobject = document.createElement('DIV'); if (newobject) { newobject.id = 'blankregion'; newobject.style.position = 'absolute'; newobject.style.visibility = 'visible'; newobject.style.display = 'block'; newobject.innerHTML = ' '; document.body.appendChild(newobject); } This simply creates a blank floating   out there on your page, BUT it seems to prevent the onresize events from being fired off over and over.     - crazy behavior - PLEASE HELP no .. no popup blockers... when inserting a <SCRIPT> block, I read that it has to be of a very particular format : <SPAN id='myScript'' style='position: absolute;'> </SPAN> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript' defer> ..code </SCRIPT> in particular, the defer attribute needs to be there and further, incredibly, the &nbsp .. because aparently IE is doing some sort of parsing of the injected HTML and makes a decision whether to run it or not based on finding some UI in there..     - IE7 Tabs What I would like to see is the ability to list all open tab URLS and page titles, and the ability to activate the different tabs. Even if it is not coded directly as an API just information on what is the best way to do this. Currently I am developing an add on application to a product my company sells that opens the users current instance of IE if they are on the correct page or launches a new one if they are not. Currently I list all windows in the thread of IEXPLORE and if the window does not contain the title I am looking for then I enumerate its children, if I find the match there I will open that instance of IE but I can not change the tab for the user they must click that themselves. When I am able to bring that active Explorer up but it causes problems within IE itselfs because it does not have that as being the active tab so you are unable to click on anything you see on the page.     - IE7 Freezes I installed IE7 when it was new, and I've kept up with all the patches through Microsoft Update. I have XP home edition with a souped up NVidia graphics card, and my desktop system is over 2 years old so it's not the very latest. IE 7 freezes quite often when I'm on a web site. It happens on a lot of web sites, such as www.NFL.com and the flash based courses at epgy.stanford.edu. But it even happens on plain text web sites like www.zoltan.org . It doesn't seem to be related to a specific reproducible action or a common feature of the web sites. It just seems to freeze and become unresponsive. I have to terminate IE7 and it works OK when I restart it -- at least for a while. I have laptops with IE7 and they don't have the same problem. The good thing about using IE's execcommand is that it wraps the selection with the proper SPAN (or Font) tags in the proper places. For the most part it is working correctly, as the following code will create and display the Flash movie: ads_flashElement=document.createElement("object"); ads_flashElement.setAttribute("width", "600"); ads_flashElement.setAttribute("height", "250"); ads_flashElement.setAttribute("classid", "clsid 27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"); ads_flashElement.setAttribute("codebase", "http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"); ads_flashElement.setAttribute("movie", "mpuClipExpand.swf"); However when I add the "quality" attribute and try to set it to "high" I get a "Type Mismatch" JavaScript error in the browser. Why am I getting an error only on this attribute I realize that these attributes are usually included as PARAM tags within the OBJECT tag, but when trying to add PARAM tags as child nodes of the object I could not get the Flash Movie to display. I found I could add the movie filepath value as a direct attribute of the Object element.     - Interacting w/tabs in IE7 Sure, but it seems like lots of folks are asking about tabs, so maybe someone has a "nice" wrapper around the not-super-nice process of using COM casts, Window classes, and EnumWindowsProc's that one seems to be able to use to enumerate tabs, close tabs, activate tabs, and find the active tab - all of which are things that various places on the web indicate can be done in a reasonably robust way (generally without much detail). Help. Recently added Skype plus a Logitech Pro 5000 Webcam. Neither worked sufficiently well to impress, plus encountered several other problems with firewalls and slowed down my search capabilities. Uninstalled both and then reinstalled them both to see if any visable appreciation, didn't work. I have uninstalled the Webcam sucessfully but cannot uninstall Skpe keep getting the following error, C/Program Files/Skype/Phone/Unins000.dat does not exist. Cannot uninstall.

Any and all input appreciated.

Hi,

I am not able to connect skype through ISA 2004. All the outbund traffic are permitted in ISA but the result is same.

Is there any specific port need to be open Your help really appreciated

Re-install the skype toolbar again, then use the Add/Remove Programs applet to un-install it.
