I've got some serious things wrong with my internet explorer 7. When I try to open a plain old select box, I get the yellow bar at the top of the screen that says a pop-up has been blocked. I thought maybe this had to do with my pop-up settings or something, so I allowed pop-ups for that website. After noticing that the problem still wasn't fixed, I went to my Tools > Internet Options, then clicked the Advanced Tab. I get a blank box that takes some time to try to load, then crashes IE7. This happens everytime I try to view these options.

What is wrong with IE I've tried to re-install it. I might as well just go back to IE6 and all of it's problems.

Please help. Thanks.

Re: Internet Explorer Web Development IE 7 Select Boxes blocked by Pop-Up Blocker

Ok, I think I figured something out about this. It looks like my computer is running IE7s.exe (which I'm assuming is IE7 Safe Mode). I just re-installed ie7 yesterday and now when I open this file:
C:\Program Files\IE7\iexplore.exe
It opens, then closes quickly.

Here's something else interesting. If I do START > RUN > "ie7", i get an explorer window with the address:

However if I browse to C:\WINDOWS, there is no ie7 folder, only ie7updates. And all the files in the ie7 folder are colored blue.

If I run the iexplore.exe inside this folder (C:\WINDOWS\ie7), It runs IE6, however when I go to Help > About Internet Explorer, it says "Version 7.0.5730.11.xpsp_sp2_gdr.061219-0316"

However, the copyright says: "Copyright c 1995-2004 Microsoft Corp."

I am a web developer and need to be able to test in multiple environments. I've never experienced this many problems and inconsistencies with any other browser. Does this make sense to anyone Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix it
