    - Browser threads and Ajax Hello Guys: As I recall, IE 6 browser supports 2 threads. Somehow I just could not find this info anywhere on my google search :=( bad search creteria or what ) . Basically I am also trying to find that info for FireFox as well. Any body can share more info on the browser thread info What I am trying to understand is that because javascript does not support threading by itself and how browser thread plays a role in Ajax calls Since async calls are all fire and forget, Does that mean, each thread, say in IE situation, is responsible for one XMLHttpRequest and once the async call comes back and frees up that thread, another call can be made.     - IWebBrowser-control memory leak. Hi, Scenario - - I am using WebBrowser control to navigate different pages. Its an MFC application. - These pages also contains references to Java Script and images. Problem - - When the page is navigated using Navigate method it occupies certain amount of memory, which is obvious. However, it doesn't release it when WebBrowser control is destroyed. - I also created a small dialog based application and embedded IWebBrowser conrol in it. I browsed a blank page using Navigate method, more than 2000kb virutal memory was occupied as per the Task Manager. After destroying the IWebBrowser control, the memory occupied was not released. Is it a memory leak or a IWebBrowser problem. If so how to release the occupied memory Your help in this regard woul be highly appreciated.     - using xml data islands - XMLDocument is undefined Hi, I'm trying to select nodes in an xml data island on the client side. I have come across examples, even in MSDN, of using <name of a data island>.XMLDocument. For example: var oNode = oMetaData.XMLDocument.selectSingleNode("METADATA/ABSTRACT"); where oMetaData is the name of an xml data island. This doesn't seem to work for me. When I debug the JavaScript, I find that XMLDocument is undefined. (The data island itself is defined and oMetaData.InnerXml is defined.) Is XMLDocument deprecated Is there a new way (or better way) to accomplish this I'm under the gun to get this working quickly! Please help! Additional information: - I'm using XHTML 1.1 Transitional - I am not trying to bind the data in the data island to controls, I need to select nodes within the xml data (using XPath perhaps) and work with this data in JavaScript.     - Displaying MessageBox in IE Hello Everyone, I am currently in process of modifying a code for IE toolbar which I believe is based on this article: http://www.codeproject.com/atl/ietoolbartutorial.asp . There is a button on this toolbar that calls a third-part screen capturing software (SnagIt). When user clicks on a button, message box is displayed with [OK][Cancel] button. If user OK’s the action, the request for processing will be posted (PostMessage(WM_SNAG, 0,0)). The problem that I have is that depending on a screen content (images/flah), after clicking on [OK] button, you will still see the MessageBox image at its last location untill end of the processing. I have a site for fast pitch teams with a select box that sets the team (session variable) you want to look at. I had this working fine, then all of a sudden I was loosing the team id between pages.     - ActiveX file save dialog blocked by pop-up-blocker Got the same experience. My pop-up blocker is OFF. To get the dialog box back though, you can just press Spacebar or Enter. I don't know if you noticed that a yellow strip message that says "Press Spacebar or Enter to activate and use this control." pops up when your dialog gets blocked. Once you do that in a session though, your subsequent file saving dialog boxes won't be blocked anymore. I haven't figured out what's up with this issue though.     - Html document never finishes loading in a new tab/window issue in IE7 We've got a browser extension that is waiting for a window/tab to finish loading using the IHTMLDocument2::get_readyState call. This call always returns 'loading' when I open a new IE7 tab/window to a site for which IE7 puts up modal dialog (e.g. a security warning dialog) before allowing the site/page to be loaded. This seems to be a timing issue where sometimes we do get past the readyState issue, but then we hit an access violation exception when calling invoke on the script engine for the htmldocument. Another thing to try is to find the Address bar (class name Editbox) using the findwindow api and using a callback to detect the enter key, but I do not think this will work for all IE browsers as this has been addressed as a phishing issue in IE7 + you will still need a BHO to find each Editbox for each tab that is loaded.     - BHO HTML tag attributes That's changing the subject somewhat. DIV elements are different than the HTML element, which gets special handling as the root element. Unfortunately, setAttribute in IE is a little screwy. It doesn't work on many attributes that you might want to set. In the case of style , the function returns without an error, but nothing happens. I believe all you need to do is open up IE, go to Tools > Options. On the Advanced Tab under Browsing, make sure you have "Disable Script Debugger (Internet Explorer)" checked.

i have disable script debugging(Internet Explorer) and disable script debugging(Other) both checked. i dont know why this doesnt take effect inside the HTA

anybody have an idea how to disable the popup i dont think my users would appreciate seeing this as they use the application so i am desperate to stop it ever happening.
