I too have the same problem... Using OE6 and email headers don't print now after I installed IE7. I have tried every trick in the book that I know, and several things I've found in various forums and by doing Google searches, nothing works. I have an HP PSC2100 printer, but also have Adobe Acrobat7 and don't get the header when printing to the "Adobe PDF" printer to create a PDF file either.
I have XP-Pro with ALL the latest patches & updates, am running Avast 4.7 Anti-virus, and AVG 7.5 AntiSpyware (formerly ewido)... the problem only came about after installing IE7.
Sample of what I am NOT getting any more:

Same thing happens with IE7 and Outlook 2003.
I have a customer with a similar problem, and can replicate it.
IE7, Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003 server (running on SBS 2003)
Some incoming HTML emails will not print the headers at all.
If I convert the HTML mail to plain text (only option) and send it back to myself, the problem disappears; if I then convert the plain text mail to HTML and mail it back to myself, it prints perfectly.
Thus, it has to be either something in the incoming HTML mail or it doesn't happen for the internal domain.
The only clue I have is that the incoming HTML mails might contain extended character sets.
Printing the same emails from Outlook Web Access also shows the same problem - not surprising, because as far as I can tell, Outlook 2003 uses IE for printing of HTML mails (but not Plain or Rich Text). I deduced this a long time ago because if you print an email with a file attachment, plain text and rich text print the file attachment - icon and name, but HTML mails don't (but do from Outlook Express).
yep, I have discovered same behavior. When I send same email to somone using IE6x it prints just fine.
so it is apparently an IE7 feature (LOL)
Heard thru another forum, that Microsoft is working on patch-
hooray for patch Tuesday, but when can we really expect fix
I have users waiting...
Microsoft appear to have a major printing problem with IE7, which is potentially
disastrous for small businesses. Not only does it cause OE6 emails to print
without headers - when a picture is attached - & to show the message in micro
font at top left, but it also fails to print certain web pages.
Uninstalling IE7 & going back to IE6 does not appear to solve the problem.
Nor does it seem to be printer specific.
So one has to keep switching to Read All Messages in Plain Text, with OE6,
and when researching on the web, use a page capture program instead -
disastrous for productivity in a small office.
Wonder when Redmond may deign to remedy the situation
When we took this up with the Microsoft 'Help' Desk in India, the lady said they couldn't replicate the problem because, unbelievably, they had not yet got IE7 installed on their central machine !!
We have the same problem here, 70 users with Outlook 2003 and IE7 installed.
As other people have reported its caused by IE7 printing html emails, I have found a work round for this which works for us.
When printing an email go to page setup and set the top and bottom margins to zero accept the changes and then print the email, the header should appear correctly.
Hope this works for you guys.
Hallo Rozee,
To resolve your printing problem with the header:
On IE7 Go to File, Page Setup set the Margins to 7.5 (on all) and should wok, these have resolved the problems for me and now I¡¯m able to print the e-mail headers but stell problems when printing with text size.
Regards,
Nyon
PS: Sorry for my English
I'm new to Forum, but I am having the same problem Rozee and others are having with header printing with IE7 OE6. Has anyone determined if Microsoft has a patch on the way to fix this. Is this a rumor or is there any truth in it.
Dear phil,
i have done this but that is not working.

I found that a margin of 7.5 (mm) for all 4 margins worked, but then when I came back to it later, it no longer worked. Changing the margins to 0 all round then worked, and without quitting Outlook, changing them back to 7.5 also worked.
I have read of another fix, but not been able to test it yet - this is to go to IE7 -> options -> General -> Accessibility and tell it to ignore font styles on web pages by checking the box. This does work on one of the few messages I have that exhibits this problem. (Ignore font sizes does not fix the problem).
If you have an email open that exhibits this printing problem, when you apply the change (ignore font styles) you can see the email make a slight change to blank lines at the top.
All this leads me to believe that there are possibly certain things in HTML emails - perhaps a styling or something - that messes up the print rendering. Both methods above work, but the effects might not be "sticky" i.e. changing the margin size is not a permanent fix.
Both are only workarounds - I suspect that the easiest is to toggle the IE7 Accessibility setting "ignore font styles" whenever there is a need to print HTML emails.
I always try to encourage my customers to user Rich Text format over HTML as it is slightly less vulnerable and the formatting of printing is controlled within Outlook, and not passed out to IE7.
I wonder what happens if the only browser is Firefox - the problem probably doesn't exist. And if there is no web browser - will Outlook fail to handle HTML emails
