Hey guys,

I just built a computer controlled RC car! There's a nice Coding4Fun article on doing this..but I took a slightly different approach. Instead of using a relay board, I only used a few transistors. Check it out: http://ashishrd.blogspot.com/2007/02/computer-controlled-rc-car.html. I hope you all find it interesting. :)

Hey that's really cool. And that's just exactly the kind of project/hobbie I want to work on if it wasn't for a severe lack of knowledge in the subject of electronics, and among other things. But I still think it's awesome how you did that. Now all you need to do is wire a camera on the front and program it to go into the girls locker room. Ha ha, just kidding.

Ha ha! That's a good idea. I've already wired a camera, check it out: http://ashishrd.blogspot.com/2007/02/autonomous-rc-car-with-laser-based.html

You could check out this way of making a computer controlled RC car which is a little simpler (and cheaper to make) http://www.pc-control.co.uk/pc-car.htm

Well, he has purchased a PC - Bee Automation Adaptor. I just used four BC547 transistors..you can get four of them for just $0.60. That's cheap. :)
