Bander ALSHARFI

Im getting this message when trying to followup the step of running the ccf admin console from the mmc, refrence to page: 43 in the deployement guide of ccf 2005 .net 2.0:

admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

the guide states as follows:

CCF 2005 .NET 2.0 Deployment Guide wrote:

CCF Settings

You may wish to adjust the general settings of CCF (available in the Options table of ContactCenter database) to suit the deployment environment.  Follow the steps given below to do the same.  Refer to Appendix ¨C A for all available settings of CCF and their significance.

Machine: CCF client machine.

Login User: Member of CCFAdmins group.

1.     Click Start -> Run.  Type in mmc.

2.     Click File -> Add/Remove Snap-in.

3.     Click Add and select CCF Admin Console and click Add.

4.     If the Connect to¡ dialog box is displayed, enter the machine name of the IIS server i.e., <IISSvr>, and click Connect. This dialog box appears only the first time that Admin console snap in is added.

5.     Click Close.

6.     Click OK in Add/Remove Snap-in window.

7.     Under the CCF Admin console node, expand the <IISSvr> node.

8.     Expand the Settings node under the <IISSvr> node.

9.     Select the General Settings node. The settings can then be seen and modified.

10.  Select Phones under Settings and in the right hand pane, change the client machine name as applicable.

I got that error while trying step 4.

notes:

  • that I have followed up the instructions carefully from the deployment guide.
  • im doing all the installations on a single server.

Did you run the SetSpn commands to configure the CCFIIS name on the local machine

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

Al-Arabi

would you please explain what did you mean by SetSpn commands

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

MattB-MSFT

SetSpn is a command used to authorize another name to a machine running in an Active Directory environment.
It is used when setting up CCF on a standalone server when you are using Active Directory.
more information on it can be found
here
How to use it is covered in the Deployment Guide that is included in the CCF package.

Some one who has successfully installed please give me a solution for this ASAP

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

MattB-MSFT

Ragzz, can you clear your ccf server log files and run the admin console again.. when it fails it should generate a log file in the root of the machine running the server.

there should be a full exception in that log.

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

MattB-MSFT

Ok.

.Exception: No configuration settings were found for Microsoft.Ccf/Csr.WebServices.Providers.AdminConsole.SettingsWS

indicates that the configuration server is not accessible.

is the user you are trying to use to login to the admin console a member of the CCFUsers group

Yes , it is added in CCFUsers group

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

MattB-MSFT

Are you running AD for this or are you using Local Security

If your running local security .. stop here and just post back that you are. Smile

You need to very that you can access the CCF Configration Service.

You can find the service here :

if you can open the service, then goto GetConfiguration function

for Type : URL

for Area : AgentDesktop

If it should return a bunch of XML,

if it doesn¡¯t or you cant access the URL, you have a security issue that you need to fix.

\if that is the case, then look in the WebConfig File for the ContactCenter site and update the AllowRoles attribute with the correct attribute

I entered Type URL and Area Agent desktop and it returned bunch of XML

but again it is throwing same exception

please help

Re: Customer Care Framework Help Needed ASAP - admin console unable to connect to CCF Server the server does not exist or access is denied

MattB-MSFT

Ok that leaves 2 areas where it could be..

On the Admin WebService site, open up the web.config file, look for the configuration URL in the applcation settings.. make sure its pointed at the right server.
