I installed the Beta 2 version of Outlook 2007 in the Office Suite. I was impressed with all products.
When the Beta version expired on 02/01/07, I uninstalled it from the Control Pannel and tried to run my Outlook XP.
I rec'd an error message that my MAPI32.DLL was either corrupted or was an outdated version.
Numerous attempts were:
1. Run MS FixItMapi.exe (or somethng like this - I forget the exact name of the utility) - this fix failed
2. Rename all Mapi32.dll file and downlod clean Mapi32.dll from MS - this fix failed
3. Uninstall Office XP, uninstall Office 2003, then reinstall Office 2003 and reinstall the XP upgrade - this fix failed 4 times.

My computer mfg. - Dell, advises me to reinstall the OS. But I am reluctant to do so.
There must be a way to fix this without reinstalling the OS again.
PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately, this does not work for me. I am still getting MAPI errors (having downgraded from OL 2007 back to OL2003). One characteristic of this error is that when I click on a hyperlinked email address (for instance in someone's email message), I get about 20 windows of IE7 loaded on my desktop. Weird.

I wish there was a way to fix this nagging issue.
