All my media both music and movies play fine in Windows Media Player. It is when I view WM videos embedded into websites like GameTrailers.com that it crashes. It is pretty irratating too because only certain websites it does this to me. As it loads up I get the "Media Foundation Protected Pipeline EXE has stopped working" crash pop up and then closes out the browser.

Well found out what is causing Windows Media Video that streams on websites to crash - DFX plug-in. Even though mp3's and video work fine in the stand alone Windows Media Player with DFX enabled. However, video streaming on websites it will crash the embedded player. When I disabled DFX in WMP, it allowed video to stream fine on websites.

Odd that a plug-in that works fine in the stand alone player, causes video to crash in the website player. Looks like a DFX software problem.

I have the same issue. Where do I find the place to disable the DFX in WMP I looked in Tools>Plugins>Options and I don't see anything that says DFX.

Thanks.
