Hi all,

Microsoft have released a new version of the Certification tool.

http://www.innovateonwindowsserver.com/CertifiedForLogoProgram.aspx

It doesn't have Beta on it so I think it's the release version Perhaps someone from Microsoft can clarify

I'm in the process of looking at the new version.

The previous version had 100 tests for both server and client.

This version has 87 Server tests and 80 Client tests.

The following tests are not in the new version

TC 2.1.1

This was just from a quick glance.

So I assume the Server and Client tests have been seperated.

Regards,

Chan

Re: Windows Server 2008 Application Compatibility and Certification New version of the Certification Tool (v1.0.0.10)

I have attempted to point the new version of the Certification tool (v1.0.0.10) at the database created by my old Certification tool (v1.0.0.8) but it isn't visible in the list of available Databases.

Can anyone confirm if this is to do with my systems or do we need to jump through hoops to migrate the certification tool

Regards,

Chan

Hi Chan

Unfortunately the newer version of the Certification Tool is not fully compatible with the database created with older version. Please note that the latest tool moved to the release version from the previous beta version.

In the future updates we are looking to ensure backward compatibility with the databases.

Thanks,

Thanks Venkat,

It's good to know that it's not my systems or myself going crazy.

Is there any documentation with this information I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation.

Although from what I can see it shouldn't be too much work to create a SQL stored procedure to migrate at least most (if not all) of the data across.

Chan

There is no specific documentation for this upgrade path as it was not supported in the first place.

However the good news is in the future versions upgrade is planned to be supported. If that is not met we will support with documentation at minimum.

Thanks for your suggestion and we sincerely hope the tool is working out well for you.

Thanks,
