I am trying to use a Microsoft keyboard with the Microsoft HD simulator, and the Ctrl and Alt keys do not simulate the player correctly.

The keyboard I am using is connected via USB. (I am using a Dell computer, with USB connections only)

The player, and the code, works fine on a different computer, with a keyboard that has a ps2 connection.

I have tried changing the keyboard, doesnt help...

For example: when pressing 'Ctrl m' it does not act as the menu button for the player.

Please Help!

Talia

The problem with USB keyboards is a known issue and should be described in the readme file.

Try using a Media Center remote instead (with the IR dongle).

I am using Win XP Pro, the spec for the media center remote specifies that it will work only with WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER OPERATING SYSTEM, do you think it will work

The model number for the remote i found is: A9O-00007 (with a USB IR Receiver)

Thanks!

I know this one works with iHDSim: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx pid=065

It does NOT require the media center OS, even though it claims otherwise. Not sure if this is the one you are referring to, I only have prototypes in my office and they are devoid of model numbers.
