HD DVD Interactivity Authoring
hi all,
Do the current players support full network connectivity I mean would a replicated disc with download features on it now function right on the current players which has been sold or do they have to be updated first to support such interactive discs

Thanks for your quick replay!Does that mean that all current players are able to handle such features (downloading trailers or streaming) or do customers have to update them if such features become avaliable I mean I'm not interested in authoring issues i just want to know if people who invested in expensive HD DVD players can be sure that all of these features will run on their first generation players!

You may have noted that when you purchased (eg) the Toshiba HD-A1, it had a little slip of paper in it that said future updates would be required for all functionality.
All the hardware is in the box, so you don't have to worry about people throwing away their hardware just to get a network connection, but firmware updates are not out of the question.

Is the X-Box 360 already supporting every HDi feature
What do the other players like Toshiba do

I honestly don't know about the full feature set for Toshiba releases. However I would guess that yes: online content downloading is possible with that update. I have not had the change to update my personal A1 player yet to try anything out.
I know everything about the Xbox :-) However I am not authorized to speak publicly on the subject, sorry. It is public knowledge that there is a new version in the works, that's all I can say right now.
