Re: Windows Desktop Search Help Lotus notes add in.

The prob is I'm trying to install lotus notes add in and I'm missing the "Lotus Notes Preferences" from my All Progs list, yet I have the tab on my control panel --> Indexing Options --> Advanced menu

Either way the Search is not pulling back emails.

My pc is on a network and I susspect that s-1-5-21-2554127390-2720852439-1129525235-208032 is some kind of network sid.

Thanks,

James.

What is your WDS version, Lotus Notes version, and the add-in for Lotus Notes version you have installed I am guessing that you run all these in Windows XP SP2 OS

Re: Windows Desktop Search Help Lotus notes add in.

tipco

Yep,

I'm running XP 5.1 SP2, WDS version 3.01, lotus notes 6.0 and notes add in version 1.00.04.

Funny thing is that the add in does not show in Windows --> start --> All Progs --> Windows Search Add-Ins.

Indexing options is showing names of other users who have used the machine.

Thanks,

James

Try to verify if your "notes.ini" folder is in your computer "path". If not, add it, this solved my problem.

My Lotus Notes instalation uses two different folders, one for executables and another folder for notes.ini. Only the path to the executables was in my computer path, so I had to add the path to notes.ini folder.

In order to check your notes.ini folder, right click your Lotus Notes icon and check Destiny in "Properties". In my case properties was "C:\Lotus\Notes\notes.exe =g:\notes\notes.ini", so I added "g:notes" to path variables.

Try to reinstall WDS and the Add-in. Delete all related folders.

Download the last version of Add-in (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyID=ac768e36-be57-4306-966c-5089b0c4d50e&DisplayLang=en). This is updated in 8/20/2007.

Important: The WDS only index messages if Lotus Notes client is open...
