David S. Anderson

Since this is the "Show and Tell" forum I am going to let you all know about my website and forums. I run a online company called DCOM Productions which is soon to become a real corporation. My website is http://www.dcomproductions.net/ where I post news and updates on software products me and my development team create as well as news articles and whatnot.

My forums are http://forums.dcomproductions.net/ (without www. because my host doesn't support it). Here we have discussions on programming topics, I teach a programming class and we offer support for Visual Basic, C# and C++/CLI.

Mainly we support the CLR languages, mostly C++/CLI. But we support VB and C# as well. All the languages we support are managed and .NET. All the forums for asking programming questions are at the bottom of the forum index. The support forums for VB and C# are past the C++/CLI forums. Just read the forum descriptions for more information.

I hope to see new faces on the forums. Ask programming questions, help others, post tutorials whatever! Join a new community.

Thank you for reading this post,
Dave S. Anderson
Owner of DCOM Productions

Dav? S. A???????

Yes, please do. I welcome anyone to the forums and I urge people to register so I can get this community on the road. Smile

AWESOME! Big Smile (edit) it is not letting me register. Sad

Dav? S. A???????

What's it say when you try to register (or what does it do)

Re: Show and Tell Programming website and forums.

Nathan

There's a register button Were

Ðãv? S. Â???????

Here is a direct link to the registration form.

As for becoming apart of the development team, we have two and each have different requirements. It all depends on what you know, if you can show us you know a lot, we'll take you.

Thank you.

There's a lot you have to do before you can join the development team. I have to personally review some of your work and do an online interview, then me and the team will make the decision.

Never-the-less, it'll be nice to have another new face on the forums whether your on the dev.team or not.

Edit: age doesn't really matter that much, I just have an age limit as a general guideline so I don't get hundreds of kiddies wanting to join.

Correct. Smile

I looked at your site and what I saw in your programming class I don't think some examples will even compile.

For instance an array in C# and C++ are 0 based and an array with 10 items has 9 as its highest index.

dcomproductions.net wrote:

int[10] myArr = new int[10];
myArr[10] = 2;
int pos10 = myArr[10];
Console.WriteLine(pos10);

// This will output a value of 2 because the position 10 in the array myArr was set to 2.

myArr[10] would result in a IndexOutOfRangeException to be thrown.

Re: Show and Tell Programming website and forums.

Ðãv? S. Â???????

Should be:

int[] myArr = new int[10];
myArr[9] = 2;
int pos10 = myArr[9];
Console.WriteLine(pos10);

I've been aware of that for awhile, but I haven't had any time to go back and change the articles. The programming class has been halted for quite some time now due to lack of free time.
