Hi Saravana,
Seems there is some hidden artifact for this application. I'd look for these artifacts linked with app in some table of the management databse.

Hi Leonid,

I already checked out the BizTalk management database with concern tables, but I am not able to figure out...

Thanks,

Saravana

I were sure you also checked it
Of course you've manualy deleted all BizTalk artifacts of this app.
Does this app work on one server/host

Leonid,

Thats what I am thing in the worst case scenario, I mean cascade delete of the application. Before that I am planning to give a try to MS Support.

I have only one (but good) idea to ask Scott Colestock. As an autor of The BizTalk Deployment Framework he should have a lot of ideas what to try.

Hello -

What error do you get when you do a "full stop" on the application

Hi Scott,
The BizTalk application is not running currently. After full stopping of the BizTalk application only, we have tried to delete the BizTalk application, we got the error specified.
So, we have delete all the artifcates in the BizTalk Application and tried again to delete the BizTalk application. We couldn't succeed, the same error. We got the same error message and same error message in the eventviewer.
The Event viewer error message is given below:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

Scott Colestock

Do you have any service instances (in any state) associated with this application right now

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

SaravanaKumar_1977

Scott,

I have checked that too... None of them are present. If it is present it will not allow me to delete the artifacts. I have deleted all artificats...

Thanks,

Saravana Kumar

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

Scott Colestock

When you attempt to delete individual portions of the application - starting with, say, orchestrations, what error do you get

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

SaravanaKumar_1977

No error. I have deleted successfully.

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

Scott Colestock

So, try deleting the individual assets (orchestrations, transforms, schemas, ports, etc.) one at a time. The order will depend on what ever dependencies you might have. See if you can get down to an essentially empty application.

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

SaravanaKumar_1977

Yes scott. Now the biztalk application that I am trying to delete is empty... Doesn't have any artifacts (orchestration, resources, maps, etc...)

Thanks,

Saravana

Re: BizTalk R2 General Not able to delete BizTalk Application: The action could not be performed on the application because the application was not emp

Scott Colestock

OK - if the application still won't delete, do you have the luxury of restarting the biztalk hosts and the sql server involved
