When trying to use

document.getElementById("someElement").style.backgroundImage = "url('new_image.jpg');

or

document.getElementById("someElement").setAttribute("class", "new_class");

The Toshiba Player shows the error message 408bc00c. Until today I thought it was a bug with Toshiba players that this operations are only available in full trust mode. But even with the actual update (1.5) it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have some information about this

Is this the A1 or A2 I believe at one point I might have heard about a possible bug on one of the players when using "url()" in script on a non-aacs disc. If possible, try using backgroundFrames instead to get around this bug (if this is the case here).

Can to replicate this issue on the Xbox

I have had success using the Toshiba and an XBOX burn with the backgroundImage technique. 00c error should deffinitely be avoided.

Try the following:

document.someElement.style.setProperty("backgroundImage", "url('file:///dvddisc/ADV_OBJ/menu.aca/new_image.png');

It will work on the Xbox and on a Toshiba emulator, but not on a Toshiba player (unless the latest firmware updates have resolved the issue).

document.someElement.style.setProperty("backgroundImage", "url('file:///dvddisc/ADV_OBJ/menu.aca/new_image.png')");

ill give it a go... cheers

Or you can just use:

document.someElement.style.backgroundImage = "url('bla')";

but it won't work on the Toshiba A1 without AACS unless there has beena firmware update recently that addresses it.
