Hello, all.

I would like to install Visual Web Developer Express to a USB stick - but cannot seem to find a way to do so. Is this possible Does anyone know how I'd do it

Hi,

I guess you may consider to reuse the VS in multiple machines.

So I suggest you to download an image that you can burn to a CD and install on any computer without internet. Manual installation instructions here.

Also you can choose to put the installer in your usb stick if the space is enough.

Thanks

I don't think you quite understand what I mean. I would like to install VWDE to my USB stick so that I can run it off of the USB stick on other computers without installing it to anything other than my USB stick.

Hi,

You can't install VWDE in a single usb stick to replant to other mechine without VWDE.

So just as I replied, I suggest you to put the installer in your usb or burn an installer CD.

Thanks.

Bringing an installer along isn't an option that's available to me; I either have to be able to move my environment with me or not use it at all. Why can't I install to a USB stick Are there any viable alternatives out there that will run off a USB stick

DotNix

What's about SharpDevelop (http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/)

I did not try to install it on any removable device (perhaps I did not try it at all)

but maybe it works for you.
