Hello everyone, I have made stuff in VB before so I know the basics. What I was wondering is if anyone knew how to make it where a messagebox comes up AND instead of it just having the X button, the Ok button and the text, if you could have it where there were buttons on the bottom and clicking would make a choise.

I have no problem of making a regular messagebox but the extra buttons in it is what I'm having problem with.

For example say I wanted a messagebox to have two buttons on the bottom of it, one said New Game, another said Load game. How would you get those buttons on the bottom.

If you don't know then atleast say so because I really hate it where I post this and none tries to help a rookie out.

Sincerely;

HaikuSoga, Visual Basic Game Maker Rookie.

HaikuSoga,

add a dialog form to your project,
and add the buttons etc you want to that form.

Then instead of calling MsgBox(), call your form
with MyDialog.ShowDialog()

Um, sorry but what do you mean by Dialog Form, I looked and their isn't a Dialog Form. There is Save Dialog and things like that but no Dialog Form... I'm confused.

Sorry,

try this:
right-click on your project, then select add and click new item.
Then a form pops up with the available items.
In that form, select dialog.

Hope this helps..

Grtz, Tom.

What Tom is saying is...build your own :)

Essentially, you would e creating your own dialog box, based on a form, with all the features you need. It's not too hard, and once it's done, you can use it across all your applications...
