I wish to know how I could make an updater that will update my programs if updates are available. I would like the updater to uninstall old versions of the application and install the update. If you can help me out with this please help.

ClickOnce allows you to do this.

And clickonce is the "out-of-the-box" mechanism for deploying VB Express applications.

A great webcast to watch on clickonce

ClickOnce is built-in in Visual Basic 2005 Express (and I think also in VB .NET)

Hey everyone, I was trying to use ClickOnce and apparently you need IIS to use it. I know that IIS cannot be downloaded and is installed via Add/Remove Windows Components, but I can't seem to find IIS in the components list. Thanks for your help so far everyone, and I hope you can help me figure this one out.

IIS is HTTP/ASP server software. It's standard on XP Pro and Vista Ultimate but you don't need the software to use click once. You don't need to have it on a server yourself but it is what a Microsoft server will run. Click once will allow you to also create CD's and file distribution media.

May I advise you watch the following webcast on clickonce. It will show you how the thing works and how easy it is.
