The debug.print method is not printing anything!!

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

spotty

It will go to the output or immediate window depending upon whether you are using VB Express of VB/VS .NET

It does not print to a printer....

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

NateNate

I KNOW that it does not print to a printer! It usually prints to the immediate window, and does for all of my projects except for this one! Is there some setting that I need to (re)set in the "My Project" pages

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

Are yopu sure your looking at the Immediate window

Debug -> windows -> Immediate

as this is where vb express will output to.

On VB.NET / VS it can be configured to go to either the output or immediate window, by configuring the Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> Output all options to the immediate window (in keeping with express) or output window if not checked.

Express doesnt give you the option to redirect the output.

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

NateNate

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I AM SURE THAT I AM LOOKING AT THE IMMEDIATE WINDOW!!!!!!!

WILL YOU STOP ASKING ME ABOUT THIS AND HELP ME GET DEBUG.PRINT WORKING

Sorry, I'm a bit upset.

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

I'm trying to direct you to the places to look and the differences between VB Express and Paid version of product.

Based upon you original question which lacked any info as to what your expectation of print was, I advised on where it should be outputing to, to which you responded "I Know" , well this was not detailed in your original post.

Giving further advice at which point you decide to shout at me and tell me your upset.

This is not my problem, I've verified this on VB Express and VSTS. Your not paying me (for trying to assist you) and I'm trying to provide information as to where you should be expecting to see output and things that could be causing the issue. This is all part of a process of resolving an issue.

If you provided more information about what you had done in the original post then I wouldnt be asking these questions.

If you continue to get upset at people trying to help you, they wont !!!!

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

Merin Gazell

Debug.Print has been supplemented with Debug.Write and Debug.WriteLine

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

NateNate

How does that help me

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

SJWhiteley

Sure is hard to give help to someone who doesn't give up too much information......Is the immidiate window visible Does debug.writeline work Are you in the debug configuration

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

Merin Gazell

"How does that help me "

It helps in using Debug.Write instead of Debug.Print

Smile

Re: Visual Basic Express Edition Debug.print not printing

Tall Dude

Put a msgbox("SameThingYouAreAskingDebugToPrint")

right after the debug print statement.

This will show you if your string is there and if

your code reaches that spot.
