Hello ~

I tried to move the Visual Studio folder earlier, but VC++ didn't like that and kept giving me 'Cannot find file' errors, and now I can't open my project. i moved the file back to it's original folder, and I can open the source files individually, but I can't get back the Form designing thing at all. How do I do this It's so frustrating...

hello

If you want visual studio reside in different directory rather than the default one, the recommended way is specify this directory during installation. Otherwise, many things can broken like the one you have. I would have a clean re-install to make sure there is no any potential problems exist. Doing this will save a lot of time than troubleshooting all the cases that caused by this movement.

regards,

rico

I have a similar problem.

I have a clean install of visual studio.

I can not find Forms Designer under the View Menu item.

You need to create a windows form application so that the Designer item will appear in the View menu.

I had previously created 2 forms, neither of which would allow the Designer to be available under the View menu item.

I compared the Solutions Explorer of the application that was having the problem to one that did not have the issue.

I noticed that the 'broken' app had a .h icon in front of the .h files that contained the info for the forms. The application which successfully allowed me to open the form with Designer had a Designer icon in front of the .h files. I opened the project file for the one that worked and modified the 'broken' one to match it. Now my 'broken' app allows me to use the Designer to modify my forms.
