I just started learning this not more then 45 minutes ago, and am kind of stuck on how i go about making a list in a listbox, for a media player for streaming stuff... What i want to do is be able to click on a file name (say like an audio file) that is in the list inside the listbox and be able to play it with the WMP COM by just double clicking on the name... Or if possible make it so that say it's like a video file and i make it into sections that i'd be able to double click on a name, and then from there it would drop down and show the sections in which you could be able to select the section you want and it would start playing on the embedded WMP...

Please let me know if anyone could help with this

Thanks...

Hi,

If you want to call the wmp in the app, you dont need to reference the wmp com.

Alternatively, you can just call another process to play the video or audio.

Thanks

You can populate the list by clicking the build button on the collection property in the properties window. You can then add a button to likk the selected item in the list to fire up the file into the embedded media player. - Not sure how to link the individual files to the list though!

Hope this helps

Thanks for the letting me know that... sense i'm kinda new at this your talking about the properties for the list box right

Also now i'm having a kind of serious problem... i was able to make the buttons do there functions and even set a button to startup a file in WMP but now for some reason nothing will run the funtion i created for what w/e if is that you click on... :( even with a simple Application.Exit(); command the exit button wont do anything all you can do is click on it...

Hi, Yooyenkoo

If you start another process to call the wmp and you want to do something with it in your windows application which is in different process running.

You should check .NET remoting.

Thanks
