Dear all

I did all what the post ( or SDK help) says about installation Platform SDK and I compiled test windows application in Visual C++(what recommends the 5-th step). I got test.exe. It runs well on my computer, but when I've taken it to another machine I got error saying "wrong application configuration" and doesn't work. The other mochine has no Framework installed, but when I used another application written in C# and did the same as with test.exe ( I run it on another machine, which has no Framework installed) I got error saying something about " framework required". To sum up I just don't know whether my Visual C++ compiles still under Framework in spite of adding all required 5 steps of configuration or the test.exe can't be run because of another reason. I copied whole solution catalog named test on the other machine.

How to know when app.exe is a file of Framework exe or Win32.exe.

I'm not sure about configuration VC++ Directories in Project and Solution :

I've changed :

Win32, executable files :

$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK/bin

to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Bin

-----------------------------------------------

Win32, include files :

$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK/Inlude

to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Include

------------------------------------------------------

Win32 library files:

$(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK/Lib

to:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2\Lib

-----------------------------------------------------

The other $(folder) I haven't changed in all cases.

Please help me.

Thank you in advance

Install the Visual C++ runtime files on that machine. Google vcredist_x86.exe

I have installed vcredist_x86.exe ( after installation of it there was no 'I agree' formula or finish button, just a taskbar while installation) on that machine and it says the same error that application is wrongly configured, reinstallation might help. How can I reinstall it if it is a simple exe which doesn't need to be installed

I double checked it and it runs even from CD on the first computer which has VC++ Express Edition installed.

Please help me.

Thank you in advance.

Did you use the Release build The Debug build won't work.

No, I thought that extention exe was enough to run on any machine. Thank you very much for your help. My test program works fine on any computer .
