today i was coding a app and then my mouse blinker (appears when typing text) turns from a thin line into a black block and its messing me up and really mad about. does any one know how to change it back. i did it once but i forgot.

Sounds like you have inadvertently pressed the Insert key. If so, just press it again to get your normal cursor back.
Yeah i agree with Dave299. I have had this problem before, you may have accidently pressed the Insert key on your keyboard. Press it again to de-activate the problem.

whats the insert key
It's a key on keyboards that changes the insertion and deletion modes of an editor. It's a key that it even more useless than a CAPSLOCK key. There are times when an editor or Word will go into OVERSTRIKE mode where instead of inserting text in an editor, exisiting text is overwritten. When my editors are irritating I know I need to hit the insert key because it toggles overstrike mode.
