    - form transparent sometimes We are developing a windows application at the moment. I built the program successfully, and then copy them across to one of my colleague's computer for testing. Generally the program works fine, except sometimes my colleague can see through the form (see the background image) when he showed the menu dropdown menu items across the toolstrip and even click on the icons behind! This weird behavior of the program is not visible on my computer. Note I copied all the dll,exe,manifest files from the debug folder to his computer.     - Need help sorting this out databases, arrays, for loops, etc I am trying to figure out the best way to do something: I have 2 datasets. One dataset is called Grid and the other is Coords.     - Of Pictureboxes, Transparency, Movement and Backgrounds Hi there, I am trying to make a picturebox move over another in a program - one, a stationary red arrow, the other a moving green arrow. When the green arrow picture box moves over the red, you can clearly see that the green picturebox is only *pretending* to be transparent; you can see that the green picturebox is filling the empty spaces with the form's colour, and that box moving over the arrow beneath it. Basically, it looks fairly unprofessional.     - Bug?: Unwanted C4819 1. #pragma warning ( disable : 4003) applies to a Preprocessor warning and it works. I think you should try to disable the warning you don't like. (I can't verify it myself because I don't have anything that produces the 4819 warning.) No, #pragma warning(disable: 4819) does not work. If disabling 4003 works for Preprocessor, it is more like a bug now. I think maybe you meant that your source code is intended for compiling on different platforms. I write code like that too. But problems about different interpretations of the program-file character encodings (unless you store your program file in UTF-16 or UTF-8 and those are recognized properly by different platforms and compilers) are not something anyone can fix easily cross-platform. Yes, that is what I intended. The trick that used to work is carefully #ifdef. It does not work now. BTW, I've found another #pragma that should help here but does not. I added #pragma setlocale("english_usa.1252") to the beginning of the test program, and it still does not work. The DataType in the DataTable is defined as System.DateTime. Allow DBNull is set to True and th DefaultValue is <DBNull>. I have an SQL statement to add (INSERT) a new record. I have created a parameter to be used with the SQL statement. In the parameter options I have set AllowDBNull to true, the DbType is set to Date and the ProviderType is DBDate. Everything works great as long as the date textbox has a date in it. The problem is there is not always a date provided to a DBNull value should added. When I try to run the SQL statement with no date provided I get the following error message: Conversion from string "" to type 'Date' is not valid. What is the code for the status label so that it shows what the progress bar is doing like in IE. For example in IE where it says "Downloading 1 out of __ images and then leads to "Done". Please, This is my first ever success program and I want to make it good. May you please put it in full code. I will learn on whatever code you give me. Thanks!

If your web browser is named webbrowser1 and the label is named toolstripstatuslabel1 and you had a progress bar named toolstripprogressbar1 then you would take these steps:

Make a timer, make sure it is enabled and put this code in the elapsed or tick event handler:

toolstripstatuslabel1.text = webbrowser1.statustext

For the progress bar put this code in the web browser's progress changed event handler:

toolstripprogressbar1.maximum = e.maximumprogress

toolstripprogress1.value = e.currentprogress

That code should display the status text and the current progress of the browser.

I already got the code for progress bar on my browser but thanks for puttings some detail into it anyway. The status text works now. Never new it was that simple... Thanks again!
