Hi,

Want to use SSL with my Win32 application and preferably via winsock.

Is this possible

If so, is there any documentation

Thanks,

I think this page will help you.

Thanks for that link I will see what useful information I can get from it.

But surely there must be some actual documentation for using SSL with winsocks

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim.

That tutorial is actually using openssl for ssl sockets, so basically a third party dll/lib.

I would really like to know if I can use SSL without having to use any non-standard dll/libraries in my application.

Whats frustrating is that I can't get a definitive yes or no from anywhere Sad

Thanks,
Jim.

Reference msdn's page.

Thanks for that.

As far as I can see, there was no support for SSL with winsock2 native to Win32 before Vista....otherwise it's a very well hidden secret.

So my choices now are to either convert my code to use the awful WinInet API, or roll my own SSL API Sad

Thanks,

Jim.

Think I can use SSPI for ssl on winsock.......amazed at how little information there is on all this!
