Hi,

I have Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic installed on my machine.

I installed Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 and tried to test applications on Visual C++.

I simply tested the "Hello World" application adding it to the "FirstCpp" project.

When I tried to compile, the system has thrown some compatibility issue window.

When I still tried to run the application, it has thrown the compile error,

LINK:Fatal Error LNK1104:Cannot open file "Debug/FirstCpp.exe"

Can you please give me some solution.

Thanks and Regards,

Raj.

Visual C++ 6.0 is no longer supported. I recommend you go download VC++ 2005 Express Edition. That will save you a lot of head scratching down the road.

See http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa975050.aspx.

Re: Visual C++ General Cannot open file "Debug\FirstCpp.exe"

Simple Samples

Are you sure the build was successful Probably not, and that is why the file does not exist. Probably the message saying that the file does not exist is telling you that the file does not exist.
